Mayor Pete is a genius. We need to be positioning him for president (for real this time, but I admired his practice run ) so nothing that could F that up for him. |
That’s why UN ambassador is perfect for him, cultivating his international statesmanship. |
I agree. But boy did 45 set the bar low for what experience meant. One thing about Pete I might add though, he used to work for McKinsey. Not saying that totally certifies him as a competent SoS, but he def has the chops and experience to fix messed up mgmt. |
+1, I also think she is better suited to the senate. She could be the lion of the senate all Ted Kennedy. |
Coons for State. |
No to Mitt. He has become incapable of taking a real stand. |
I know people are saying that Pete is overqualified to be Press Secretary, but I actually think it’s a way, way, way more important and strategic role than it normally is. The Rs and Russians have been running very sophisticated disinformation campaigns since Obama’s first term. There is a sizable part of our population that believes insane things. Pete is uniquely talented and gifted at explaining things and helping solidify communication about the Dem’s platform that I think could go a long way in bringing people along.
I think he should do that role for a year or 2. It would also raise his profile in preparation for a future presidential run. He can have a more substantial role in the latter part of this administration. |
How high were you when you wrote this? |
+1000. I think Biden might turn to Chris Coons. |
Agree on Susan Rice. And while I get the urge to do the bolded, I think that's a bad place for Biden to operate from. If Biden has to do that at some point, do it with a pick that would sail through in normal times. Susan Rice, neck deep in the Benghazi response, and who has been described as "legendarily abrasive," is not that pick. She might be a good pick for Chief of Staff or as an adviser of some type. Samantha Power comes across as kind of a loon. Too far left, and also an Obama re-tread. |
She was the National Security Adviser. Come on. |
Absolutely not. |
Hopefully, he has black people, specifically black women in the majority of the positions. |
I disagree on USTR. We need a trade technocrat (like Lighthizer) for that position to carefully balance the dismantling of the domestically destructive Section 301 tariffs while at the same implement substantive policies to keep China in check. We'll also need somebody who has good relations/connections with Congress to persuade members of Congress on future trade deals, ala the TTP. |
Please please please John Kasich as a conservative moderate voice of reason.
Maybe Sec Labor? |
