This bishop is quite misguided. If she thinks the people who burned the church are protesters and in pain, she really needs to look again. She thinks its okay to burn a church? She's let her politics get in the way of her judgment. Inappropriate response. What has she done to make things better? |
WTF is wrong with you? People were “escorted out”? Did you read the account from the church’s pastor about running from the gas? Because none of this had anything to do with Cheeto’s photo op 10 minutes later? I want some of what you’re smoking. |
The Bishop is a Christian. She’s showing compassion. You wouldn’t understand. Also, the church wasn’t “burned,” stop exaggerating. One of the pastor’s fb posts said the damage could have been a lot worse, compared to what happened to local shops, so the looters (not the protestors, keep them straight) apparently gave the church a break. There was a fair amount of graffiti, including cites to the book of Matthew and “the devil lives across the street”—you must be mad about that. |
F you for closing your eyes. You are a horrible person. |
American troops tear gas and drive away the clergy of their own church so Trump can pose with an upside-down Bible.
Sounds about right, if you support the Anti-Christ. |
I think the Bishop can speak for themselves, thank you. Who TF are you to inject yourself with this? |
This is all they’ve got, to keep repeating over and over that we’re not seeing what we are all seeing. It’s all on video. It’s all being tweeted. We see and hear the interviews. They can’t lie to us about what us happening, or why, because we can see it happen. We see the police give an order 20 minutes before curfew and then immediately start shooting tear gas canisters at people. We see the pastors statement and the mayors tweets. There is no way to spin it, just like there’s no way to spin what happened to George Floyd.. |
25 minutes before the curfew police used tear gas on peacefully protesting demonstrators, some of them children.
These people were peaceful. They were cleared away - ahead of the curfew - to make way for Trump and his entourage, which included Ivanka. It was a pure photo op meant to gin up his base. His base, I might add, no more Christian than Trump. What a disgrace on all fronts. Trump for his exploitation of Christianity and on the police for their abuse of Americans exercising their constitutional rights - PEACEFULLY. Shame on Trump. Shame. |
Wow. Did you watch the night before? When the "protesters" set fires burning? In Lafayette Park? In the church? On the streets? And, you think the authorities are "out of line" to make the people follow the curfew? You want them to wait until AFTER they set fires? The curfew was at 7. The problem is that if they waited until 8, it would have been tougher to move them out. My parents taught me at a very early age: if a policeman tells you to do something, you do it. I'm a white woman. I still follow that rule. |
Then why were they gassed at 6pm? |
What you call misguided, I call Christian. She is living Christian beliefs. |
She really thinks Jesus would teargas protestors. |
+1 |
So she thinks the "pain" of those protesting justifies burning a church. I was watching this when the fire was reported. Does she know that the fire department had trouble getting there because the "protesters" wouldn't move? Had the authorities not managed to put the fire out, the church likely would have suffered extensive damage. But, the protester's "pain" and all that. She could have said something healing. She chose not to do so. |
