So he’s modeled in front of two churches. Should I feel left out that he’s not showing up at a synagogue or mosque?
wow. that look on his face. if he saw this picture, if he had any sense, he should of ordered it destroyed.

Did Madam Tussaud’s loan out some wax figures? WTF? Potemkin President.

I wonder what his Jewish daughter and son-in-law think of his sudden interest in Roman Catholicism. I wonder what the Pope thinks. Maybe he should join an RCIA class? He might learn something.

Would his evangelical base like this interest in papists? Does he even know there is a difference?

Christian, but not a Trump supporter, so I'm inferring a bit from my reading of people more conservative than myself, but I think it was so transparently a photo op with no content at all. He didn't mention God, he didn't pray, or even reference any vaguely religious talking points. He didn't tour the church, he didn't mention the fire, he didn't talk to the rector. He held the Bible in a profoundly weird way (one conservative guy I usually clash with on a religious forum said it looked like "he'd never held a book before"). It wasn't even as much substance as the usual red meat to this religious base (my gloss, not theirs). Add in the fact that he pushed aside a peaceful protest to do it? It's hard to justify. There's plenty of moderate conservatives who care about order who'll excuse police using force against protests when they're threatening order, but the video makes it obvious that wasn't happening. Moving against them for such a trivial reason makes it something of a tipping point.

Christianity and Christ,
Both are very important.
They're truly sacred things.
Religion, in general, is a beautiful subject.

So we're honoring the church and God.
We're honoring both of them.

Ivanka went to St. John’s with him and carried the Bible in her $1,500 purse, per the Daily Mail.

Where’d she get that bible? Clearly doesn’t belong to anyone in the family. Did she send an errand boy over to the Trump hotel to snatch one out of a drawer when she came up with this “brilliant” plan?

I like to imagine Trump ordering Pence to hand over his Bible, and Pence saying, “Yes sir,” then praying for salvation while the photo op is taking place.

Remind me what these have to do with the US government?

This piece by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Robin Givhan sums it up nicely, I think.

I'm pp - thanks. I sort of get it. I don't totally get it, though. He's so disgusting and horrible all the time. It still doesn't really make sense to me why this is the final straw for some folks.

Wonder what kind of handbags Ms. Givhan carries. And, FWIW, how often did she mention the price of Ms. Obama's clothes?

And, gee, I remember when Ivanka was criticized for wearing one of her own "off the rack" dresses to the GOP convention.

Using the presidency/presidential race to plug your own brand is kinda tacky, you have to admit.
