Outlander...Droughtlander coming to an end!

OMG can’t believe I forgot to mention Claire’s new drug problem! So, both she and Fergus will have issues this season? Whatever.
Anonymous
In the books Fergus does, Claire does not. So, it's pretty weird they're doing this.

I thought the new version of the theme was awful.

Jamie’s flashback scenes we’re too long and very boring. Why was he acting so weird? Very uncharacteristic of how he typically acts.

I hope they don’t wreck Fergus.

Cinematography was too bright and all the sets look fake.

Overall, pretty boring.

yes.
I hated the theme too - go back to season 1 theme.
Agreed plus his wig makes him look so different than when he was at Ardsmuir in the 2nd season
The Fergus/Marsali plot is actually quite interesting and the two actors playing them can actually handle it. I hope they go there.
Agree on cinematography - Outlander is typically... dirty, and real.
They spend 80 minutes setting the stage for only 5 more episodes. Hmmmm.

I think they are jumping the shark.

I noticed Sam Heughan was listed as a producer this season. I bet he had them over a barrel and negotiated for more money, shorter season, producer credit, etc.

He fancies himself as a leading man in the movies. Or an action hero (fueling his exercise addiction and disordered eating). He just doesn't want to spend time on a long shoot.

Six episodes isn't a real series. But I think we all might be losing interest anyway. He's no longer handsome, and his personality in this season isn't coming through at all. He's just blah.

You know it's bad when you're hoping Roger and Boring Brianna do something. Anything. Marsali and Fergus were barely characters last season, and I think they are both good actors.

I don't they they're jumping the shark but the series may have run it's course. Heughan and Balfe were producers last year too. They simply couldn't shoot more because of Balfe's pregnancy.
I think he's very handsome. Check out the new Gentlemen's Journal shoot. I follow him and don't see any exercise addiction or disordered eating. He seems completely normal for a actor who relies on his body to get work. He's had his hand in other successful ventures too.

I’ve followed him for years and watched videos posted by his friends and former cast mates. He definitely has disordered eating and a weird exercise addiction. Mila Kunis and the snl actress who costarred with him in that comedy joked about how they would see him running to work from a great distance while they drove by in their car service. In the rain/snow/whatever. It was clear they thought he went overboard.

The guy who played his BIL on outlander had lots of videos where he teased him about his diet and exercise. He was clearly trying to be an action hero and/or bond, but I think he missed the boat. He’s getting older, he has thinning hair, thin lips, weird moles, etc. That’s probably why he went all in on his biceps and abs.

Right.

He sells whiskey.

And he’s done the Scotland travel series that was very boring.

I really enjoyed Men in Kilts!

Agree that the theme song is awful this season.

I enjoyed Men in Kilts too. And now, a New Zealand focus for the next one. Pictures on E News! show he's with a new chick and he doesn't look like he has an eating disorder.
Anonymous
He has a vegan smoothie for breakfast, tomato soup OR a salad for lunch (not both), and salmon (just salmon) for dinner.

He works out twice a day (heavy workout). That’s not enough calories for a man who works out. That’s disordered eating. He’s obsessed with his body/weight, and it impacts what he eats.
Anonymous
Sigh… take a look at his pics on E news. He’s fine.

NP and book reader here. I’m not liking this particular change. Not one bit. If I remember correctly, she does test the ether on herself in the books, before using it on her patients. But she doesn’t use it as a coping mechanism. This just seems so out of character for her.

This.

She's supposed to be brave and perhaps even more courageous and resilient than Jamie. Knocking herself out with homemade ether because of bad dreams? This doesn't make sense for Claire. And it doesn't add to the story unless they are trying to give the couple a side plot on how her secret impacts their marriage? Maybe she will have a near death experience? It's dumb.

If the plot is moving towards the war, then perhaps stay focused on that? It would be interesting for Roger the history professor to perhaps provide useful intel that steers things in the right direction.

How do you know this? I've clicked on a video of one of his appearances and he straight up said he now eats meat. He said he tried to keep his diet as clean as possible to fuel his muscle growth. I don't think any of us accurately know how many calories this man consumes in a day.

right?! And if he has the muscle mass that is revealed when he takes his shirt off on the show he's eating plenty. and plenty of protein.
