Anyone watch the new season opener yet? I thought the new version of the theme was awful. Jamie’s flashback scenes we’re too long and very boring. Why was he acting so weird? Very uncharacteristic of how he typically acts. I hope they don’t wreck Fergus. Cinematography was too bright and all the sets look fake. Overall, pretty boring.
yes. I hated the theme too - go back to season 1 theme. Agreed plus his wig makes him look so different than when he was at Ardsmuir in the 2nd season The Fergus/Marsali plot is actually quite interesting and the two actors playing them can actually handle it. I hope they go there. Agree on cinematography - Outlander is typically... dirty, and real. They spend 80 minutes setting the stage for only 5 more episodes. Hmmmm.
I think they are jumping the shark. I noticed Sam Heughan was listed as a producer this season. I bet he had them over a barrel and negotiated for more money, shorter season, producer credit, etc. He fancies himself as a leading man in the movies. Or an action hero (fueling his exercise addiction and disordered eating). He just doesn't want to spend time on a long shoot. Six episodes isn't a real series. But I think we all might be losing interest anyway. He's no longer handsome, and his personality in this season isn't coming through at all. He's just blah. You know it's bad when you're hoping Roger and Boring Brianna do something. Anything. Marsali and Fergus were barely characters last season, and I think they are both good actors.
I don't they they're jumping the shark but the series may have run it's course. Heughan and Balfe were producers last year too. They simply couldn't shoot more because of Balfe's pregnancy. I think he's very handsome. Check out the new Gentlemen's Journal shoot. I follow him and don't see any exercise addiction or disordered eating. He seems completely normal for a actor who relies on his body to get work. He's had his hand in other successful ventures too.
I’ve followed him for years and watched videos posted by his friends and former cast mates. He definitely has disordered eating and a weird exercise addiction. Mila Kunis and the snl actress who costarred with him in that comedy joked about how they would see him running to work from a great distance while they drove by in their car service. In the rain/snow/whatever. It was clear they thought he went overboard. The guy who played his BIL on outlander had lots of videos where he teased him about his diet and exercise. He was clearly trying to be an action hero and/or bond, but I think he missed the boat. He’s getting older, he has thinning hair, thin lips, weird moles, etc. That’s probably why he went all in on his biceps and abs.
