Outlander...Droughtlander coming to an end!

I just really wish that Bree and Roger were attractive. Then we'd have the sex appeal we had in the early seasons. But shirtless Roger makes me gag.

I’m not sure how far behind I am but I like it when the stories draw more from actual history….the stuff about the developing race relations, class conflict, medical knowledge, etc., is really interesting. Like when Jacinta told claire about the laws that made it basically impossible to free your slaves — it’s fascinating how the legal system developed to enshrine that system, like how gangs don’t let propel just walk away because then people might listen to their conscience and leave.
The interpersonal stuff is just boring, Bree can’t act and Roger looks like your average suburban dad. The casting people did so well on the first season (including all the awesome Scottish relatives like Dougal), it’s amazing how they dropped the ball with the roger/Bree casting.

this! I can't believe how perfectly cast the first season was and then this. Bree almost ruined the series for me.

Claire and Jaime are still attractive people but they have her looking so pained and wretched every moment of Season 6. Her life was one horror after another during the prior seasons too but her fire (which she’s still supposed to have) isn’t coming through at all. And there is NO humor or lightness any more without characters like Murtagh. Roger and Bree are such a bore.

Okay, that gave me literal chills.

And Roger looks somewhat better with the beard. I'm psyched for more history, and it looks like the Roger/Bree melodrama is shelved, and Jamie gets back to being the reluctant warrior and dogged protector (which is what brings us all to the yard). Sadly, no kilts, and we'll never get Murtaugh back.

What did you think of Season 7, Episode 1? That cliffhanger!

First episode of new season is outstanding.
I like seeing the tough side of Jamie.

I thought the first episode of new season was terrible. Boring, slow, nonsensical. Such a letdown after the long wait!

+1

Hopefully it was just necessary to lay the foundation for the season.

Roger is growing on me. Hopefully he will become the interesting hero this season. Bri is obnoxious.

Claire and Jaime are so boring. And she comes off as equal parts arrogant and weak. Weird.

*spoiler alert*
Disagree..This episode had to explain the death of Malva which led to a shocking confession in order to free Claire. Once she was freed it sets us on a course to see that Jaime has come for Mr Brown.

It’s a prelude to violence to come and the calm before the storm. Get ready..

I just can’t really make sense of Roger and Bree still living in the 1700s. Does anyone know why it didn’t work when they tried to go through the stones?
