KP ES to WJ - shortest distance is 3.8 Miles. KP ES to Einstein - 2.5 miles |
|
Wheaton HS can take some ES from Einstein.
KP can go to Einstein. Some Wheaton ES can go to Woodward. Many ways to balance geography and demography. |
Via Grosvenor Ln to WJ is 2.5 miles |
You know people have this thing called Google Maps right? Kensington-Parkwood to Walter Johnson is 2.4 miles, according to Google Maps. You go on Beach Drive to Grosvenor Lane to Old Georgetown Road. The shortest route from Kensington-Parkwood to Einstein is 2.5 miles, which is longer. And, again, the closest ESs in the Einstein zone to WJ or Woodward, which isn't Rock View (the zone for which contains Einstein), are twice as far to WJ or Woodward as KP is to Einstein. Oakland Terrace is 5.3 miles (on the Beltway no less) to WJ and 4.4 to Woodward, and Highland Elementary is 5.6 miles from WJ and 4.7 miles from Woodward. |
If this happens, as was said before, the lowest scoring ESs will be rezoned from Einstein to Wheaton and Einstein will actually get much, much better. 7/10, at least, and that's not factoring in gentrification that will inevitably happen around the Wheaton Mall / Metro area by the time Woodward opens in 2025 at the earliest. |

Also, if KP is rezoned to Einstein there is no way KP students don't attend Silver Creek MS. If that happens a lot of the kids from North Chevy Chase / Chevy Chase View will be going to Einstein too, along with their Silver Creek classmates. If that happens, and the lower performing ESs in the northern part of the Einstein cluster are rezoned to Wheaton HS / Woodward, then Einstein will be a really highly regarded school. |
LOL. More like 10. There is no way this goes according to schedule. Woodward was supposed to already be alleviating WJ overcrowding in 2020. |
I am not the PP, but anything within 4-5 miles is close enough for a HS. Balancing demography has more weight than anything else in boundary decisions going forward. |
B-CC is not part of the Woodward plan. |
Split articulations. It happens with Churchill and Woottoon ES. MS can remain same and HS can be Einstein. |
All boundaries are subjected to change with county wide study. Woodward will be great opportunity to address any changes in B-CC as well. All older plans are outdated when it comes to boundary decisions. |
| We are zoned for an MS that is split between Northwood and Einstein |
Exactly. People in this thread thinking that they are except from the whims of MoCo social experiments are delusional. This will affect everyone. |
The CIP is what matters. Right now, Woodward is to be used for WJ and DCC overcrowding. There'll be a new CIP in October, before the consultant’s report is done. I |
