George Mason: ugliest campus ever?

Yeah but each of those schools are a tier above Mason academically

It didn’t diminish the quality of my education in the slightest. I think GMU is very pretty and its relative newness goes in the pro column for our DC.

Just. No.

How would OP like it if I posted a picture of his/her house stating it is the ugliest house ever. Why would someone ever post such an insulting comment??

+1. Probably a student or parent whose child didn't get in. It's that time of year. GMU has become much more difficult to get into. If OP is real, then they are confused by all the construction going on on campus because the center of the campus is quite green and lovely. Here's google images of it: https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/1946/04/nuremberg-a-fair-trial-a-dangerous-precedent/306492/

GMU still accepts 80% of the students who apply. Relax.

This is like people saying VT and St Mary's are hard to get into. They aren't...

Certainly have smarter kids....

Going to Mason is bad enough. Can you imagine getting a degree from a branch campus of.....Mason?!

I posted about SUNY Binghamton earlier. Great school, but fugly campus.

Mediocre school, ugly campus.

Far more prestigious than Mason however, just to clarify...

PP of the last four or so posts - just so you know, anyone reading this can see how utterly insecure you are. Wow!

The mud-slinging on an ANONYMOUS website is hilarious. OP - did your student get rejected from GMU?

In our professional circles here in the DMV (law & engineering), GMU grads have done very well for themselves. This thread is satire.

Industrial? I'm pretty sure you were at the wrong campus. GMU is surrounded by downtown Fairfax, which is cute and getting some decent restaurants, bars, etc. in it (finally), parks, residential neighborhoods, and malls that cater to college kids. It's walkable and they've been doing a lot to try to upgrade its "curb appeal." So, try again.

You think Fairfax, VA is CUTE!?! Who hurt you?

What's your problem dick? Have you actually visited GMU or Fairfax City? Because it is a nice, historic old town. Maybe spend some time before spouting off things you have no knowledge about.

Sounds like you're the one hurt.

most schools technically are commuter schools base don the % of people living off campus.

GMU isn't Princeton, but the topic of this thread is silly. GMU has maintained wooded areas and taken steps to update some of the biggest 1960s-1970s eyesores like the library.

that's a hard NO.

Back in the 1990's, I attended a college that is at the top of the list of most beautiful campuses. I was a tour guide on campus for 3 of my 4 years. Parents and prospective students would come on our tour and just be in awe at the beauty, and immediately wanted to apply. I doubt it's a good idea to choose a college based on its campus (even if that's what I did).

Which school?

NP here, I lived there from 1988 to 2005. I hate the area.

Not for first years tho. GMU only has 64% of first years living on campus, while many of the other VA state schools are in the 95%+ range
