George Mason: ugliest campus ever?

Salisbury is nicer than GMU and UMD.

The ugliest campus is Harvey Mudd's. Terrific school, but hideous, depressing campus.

We need a new thread for ugliest campuses.

Really? Is it just HM? DD applied to Scripps and they are listed as one of the top scenic colleges and nicest dorms. We haven’t been out yet, but if she gets in we will visit. Virtual tour looked nice.

Sure, but at least you’re in Claremont, a fantastic town with great weather. Generic suburb of NoVA? Meh

"Industrial area"?? It's surrounded by neighborhoods.

My kid is at GMU and loves it, but I’ll agree it just doesn’t have the charm/elegance/beauty of a UVA or W&M or JMU or Vt. Which makes sense, bc it’s so new. It’s like comparing Ashburn to Georgetown.

I’m curious what school OP is thinking of. There are no power plants and nothing industrial around mason. Just suburban houses and a little strip mall.

Which one of these things is not like the other? Which one is different? Do you know?

We drove a few blocks off campus in all directions to get a vibe of the neighborhood. Have you driven back behind the new Hylton Performing Arts Center?

The traffic around Mason is AWFUL. I feel bad for the students. Not really a great college experience The city of Fairfax is DEAD on the weekends

That is on the Manassas campus, not the main Fairfax campus. Most students don’t spend much time there.
