You're kidding me right? CYA going to fill in the 3rd and 4th team?

I think it's clear CYA is the stronger program right now. Strong staff, good coaches, great facilities.

Are we in North Korea?

Anyone truly on the inside know if the merger really is happening or not?

Not on the inside but I'm very doubtful this will happen anytime soon. There's a lot of hurdles to doing it, not the least of which is getting by 2 boards. Add in the fact that both clubs have significant financial obligations (CYA Fieldhouse and SYA Sports Park), 2 sets of coaches that are going to fighting for position, and as always in youth soccer, parents, you have very little chance of getting this done this year.

Plus, from reading these endless forums, seems like the CYA leadership is still trying to figure itself out. And that's best case. SYA might be able to find better partners. Herndon or Burke would seem to make just as much sense without the negative aura that CYA seems to give off.

There is tons of negative info on this board about CYA and I haven't seen anything negative about SYA, so.....odd.

SYA is a well-run club with competitive teams.

What exactly is it that's so poorly run at CYA?

My son played for CYA travel and had a positive experience.

Also very confused as to why there is negativity? We are new to CYA and love everything they are doing, great leadership and coaching - we have zero complaints! From what I heard throughout our team and other families is a lot of the problem makers left after last spring.

I've had 3 kids go through the travel ranks in the area and SYA has always been a more competitive program with stability.

Much stronger than CYA and with less chaos.

Who are these people posting these posts? From everything we have been seeing and hearing CYA is thriving. We have been there 4 years and this fall has hands down been the best season. Whatever changes happened in the director staff has made a huge difference. Last year was an utter disaster, but thankfully the club made the changes in management it needed! Very pleased with CYA...and LOVE the fieldhouse. Definitely recommend the fitmoms class - it kicks my butt!

Agreed! CYA made a huge turn around from last year! Good luck to wherever those other managers went, but we are happy with the changes!
