How many left-lane slowpokes have been fined under new Va. law?

yeah, basically the argument hear is people ARE going to drive aggressively and WELL over the legal posted limit so suck it and stay to the right. in other words yield to the people breaking the law (even if you are doing the posted speed limit)

Yeah totally ignoring the concept that by engaging the dangerous drivers you are endangering all of the other people on the road who are driving safely and following the rules. For example, me tooling along at 60 in the lane next to the left lane is endangered when you decide to go 60 in the left lane knowing that if a 70 driver comes up on you they will unsafely navigate around ME.

So sure, you get those fast drivers and continue to endanger yourself and all the other safe drivers on the road with your vigilantism.

My dad always wished that cars could shoot darts like a dart gun. Every time you saw an unsafe car, you'd dart them. Cops could then go around looking for cars with dozens of darts all over them .

The speeders who stay in the left lane cause problems when people in the adjacent lane need/want to pass.

Yeah that is why speeders get ticketed.

Yeah well the vast majority of slowpokes are left alone too. And for the record, DC sent out more than a million camera tickets alone. And Fairfax county collected 101million dollars in speeding fines.

Driving in the DC area on the freeways makes my blood boil.

Somehow in NJ they manage to have a similar level of traffic, but manage to keep right and pass left and have higher average speeds. TBH driving the length of the NJTP is a cakewalk compared to just getting to Fredericksburg

I’m the PP who drive 400 miles every other weekend. You’re correct that highways in NJ are SO MUCH BETTER at this. But when they aren’t, 8-9 times out of 10 it’s someone with Virginia plates who’s in the left lane gumming things up.

I can't wait until the last minute to move into the left lane, since the left laners are the most aggressive and block up the spot, so I have to get in at least 3/4 mile ahead. I then have the left laners on my tail, even at 60, for the 40 seconds I'm in the lane.

Surely they won't ticket if there is a left exit up ahead, and "slower" drivers (meaning those who drive within 5 miles OVER the speed LIMIT) won't get tickets. In fact, I'd rather see them ticket the impatient left laners who tailgate because the want to go 70.

If you keep your speed at 60, tops, then you are a problem. I know it's within the law but have some common sense and go with the traffic flow. You're not being safe, you are the cause of many problems as people try to get around you.

What a crock of shit. I am following the law, and YOU ARE BREAKING IT.

classic DCUM self obsession, ignore the fact that I am breaking the law as I tell YOU why YOU are in the wrong (with a healthy dose of you a$$, or other colorful language).

Honest question here: what't the big deal with going the speed limit in the left lane? I learned how to drive in a place where there isn't really any concept of "passing lanes." Is driving fast/passing in the left lane safer for everyone? It just seems to strange to me.
