Liberals: How can you, in good conscience, support illegal immigrants?

Illegal immigrants usually take jobs American's don't want. Many Americans complain that immigrants are taking their jobs. So, if you're unemployed, why not go to indeed or craigslist and apply for a construction job. That way illegal Mexicans won't be doing the work. Oh, everyone wants office jobs.

With that aside, I think America is overrated. I grew up in the US and always thought as a child the US is the greatest country in the world. Now as an adult I disagree. The drinking age is 21. At 18 you can go to war, own a gun, marry, get a tattoo and be sentenced to death, basically an adult. But you can't drink? Why is the government telling adults not to drink? We don't have government subsidized health care. Every advanced country has government subsidized health care except for the US. Isn't it great to be able to go to the hospital in an emergency and not have to worry about a bill, or to have to choose between giving up your home/possessions or dying? Yet many people are opposed to government subsidized health care, despite the fact that it works in other countries. In America people believe you should be able to support yourself as an individual, and no one wants to give their "hard earned money" for free health care. Survey research conducted by the International Social Survey Program has found that a lower percentage of Americans believe health care for the sick is a government responsibility than individuals in other advanced countries like Canada, the U.K., Germany or Sweden. Also, the USA has the highest child poverty rate and a high infant mortality rate. Sweden ranks low in both of those. Our education system is a joke. Common core, "poverty is the cause of every educational problem" not pedagogical research as a basis for education reform. We can't offer free college education. Students who want to go into a job that requires a degree (doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers are needed) have to get into debt. And we also want the right to own guns, a device that people. 2nd amendment supporters claim that owning a gun will make the criminals afraid of you, thus lowering the crime rate. Well Texas, a big gun state, has also the highest burglary rates.

I'm sick of these adult kids dependent on their parents too lazy to get a job then complaining that "immigrants are taking our jobs". Go ahead and apply for a construction job. I am sick of people who inherited a fortune from their parents or grandparents complain about their "hard earned money". You did nothing to earn the money, other than being born to people who have it. Go ahead and apply for a job.

OP here and this is amusing. Several generations back, my family (like most of ours) immigrated from various countries. Legally. So while it is "lucky" that I was born here, I owe that fortunate fact to my ancestors who stood in line and jumped through hoops to make sure they, and all their children, would become citizens.

What they didn't do was sneak into this country and hide out, only to demand one day that they receive citizenship, ahead of all those like my ancestors who did the right thing and followed the law. So let's turn this around, since I seem to have hit a nerve - should you be deported?

How many have you hired to take care of your children, mow your lawn, fix your roof, fix anything around the home, etc. how many places have you refused to spend your money once it's dawned on you that the business use illegal/undocumented immigrants? The federal government won't go after businessses that hire illegals because the Feds hire contractors who in turn staff illegals.

I am a pp, and I've never hired any illegal immigrant. I had Ukrainian nanny who was a US citizen, I had maid from Philippines who was a PLR. We always tend to our garden, and my husband always cut the grass. I fixed a lot of things around my house by myself, including painting, wiring, tile work, replacing faucets, etc. I used contractors in past who's employees were from south america, but there were no way for me to check his employees legal status. I just picked the most reputable contractor in the area with over 20 years of experience. I agree that there should be a strict regulation about hiring non-citizens. I don't mind to pay a higher price for quality work.

Have you ever eaten in a restaurant or bought produce? Because I guarantee you that undocumented workers were involved. So be quiet. If you really cared about this issue, you would knocking down the door to Orange Man's office and demand that Sessions get to work on going after the Employers. But you won't. You'll just scapegoat the people involved.
