votes also dems hate blue collar workers |
I think you missed the part where Trump's resorts and R farmers hire cheap foreign workers who contribute in keeping wages down. Exactly, ^^PP, Trump, R farmers and all CEOs hire cheap workers, legal or illegal, because they all care about profits. This has nothing to do with R or D or any political affiliation. But, it's the hypocrisy of the Rs on this issue that gets to me. You don't want illegal immigrants, but you bring in cheap foreign labor on work visas who end up overstaying their visas and become illegal immigrants. Seems to me, Trump and these R farmers are indirectly contributing to the number of illegal immigrants. |
Then why are unions (blue collar workers) mostly Dems? |
Stop with the us vs. them. It's ugly. These "illegals" were brought here through no fault of their own. They are Americans in every sense except for the piece of paper that says so. It would be cruel to send them back, breaking up families, sending them to countries they are unfamiliar with and may not speak the language. It's effing cruel and so are the people who support it. BTW, I have to ask: are you a Christian? Are you "pro-life"? Because if you are, and you support deporting these people, you are neither Christian nor pro-life. Lastly, I also have to say that if you've ever so much as broken the speed laws you're a worse person than these DACA folks, who were not at fault for being her illegally. And, you're a hypocrite to boot. I guarantee that most -if not all- the people on this board have broken a law at some point. Thus, You can take your law-abiding citizen high-ground and stuff it. This country is becoming cruel, and cold, and is lacking in basic decency and compassion. And it's vile. These people deserve to stay and calling them "illegal" while knowing the circumstances of them coming here is lacking human decency. |
Bull. It's the Dems trying to protect work protections for blue collar workers - fair wages, living wages, fair leave laws, safety and environmental regs. It's the R's that are rolling back all of that. So the proof is in the platform and Republicans don't have a leg to stand on there. As far as votes, again, Republicans are the ones that gerrymandered the hell out of many, many states to give them unfair advantages (NC, PA). And it's a PA Republican who flat out said he would ignore the Supreme Court ruling finding unlawful gerrymandering in that state. But, nice try. Con-nesia strikes again. |
75% of immigrants from Mexico are on social services.
WTH! |
As an immigrant, may I remind you that this is what every single immigrant to the US did - broke up the family, left the only country they new etc. |
I think most liberals are supportive of immigration reform. No one supports illegal immigration. Most people agree that we need to know who is entering our country. The real difference is our views on the way it should be handled. Those of us with compassion for the people with whom we share this planet feel strongly that we can find a way to fix our immigration system without being inhumane and cruel. |
What exactly is your compassionate solution? |
Yup. Z-I-P. You f'in liars. |
The republican base doesn't like cheap immigrant labor. The republican donors DO like cheap immigrant labor. Republicans in congress listen more to their donors than their base. |
DP here The best way is to setup a system that doesn't exploit illegals who are in a bad situation. This would be to disincentivize both the use of illegal labor, and disincentivize staying here illegally. I would says $250k fines for using illegal labor. 50% taxes on remittances. |
I am a far left progressive but if there's a single republican who can propose that type of legislation- well then he's earned my vote. However I'm pretty sure pigs will fly before a republican ever proposes something like that. |
Another DP and I agree with this. No chance a Republican would ever suggest such a thing, though. |
This. Hey, when's Mexico gonna mail a check for the wall like Trump promised? |
