Bunny was pretty harmless. |
You are right. I guess I just always found the Samantha storylines and character uninteresting. Charlotte's storylines were interesting at times; the Trey marriage and the Bunny character were interesting. I found it unrealistic that she would go for an unattractive, obnoxious family law lawyer, though. ![]() |
I wouldn't call it my favorite episode but the scene at the wedding where Samantha shares her diagnosis but they try not to tell Miranda has really stuck with me. Great scene. |
See Big would never have made such a gesture. Carrie was an idiot to let Aiden go. |
|
Carrie's short hair was the best. |
Carrie never gave a crap about Big's money. They both had bad relatioships with their fathers and weren't gonna trust anybody so Carrie just pushed and pushed Big until; he pushed backed and they finally figured out they were tired from the fight and finally married.Trey was a respected doctor with a mother problem and a trust fund which was very alluring to Charlotte. However, when push came to shove she preffered the funny looking jew who she loved with her whole heart and converted for. |
Irl if a man does that, you are his side chick |
No. No. Trey was old money from generational wealth. Big was self-made in finance with UMC wealthy parents (but not family office sort of money). Many wall st. bankers had black cars the firm would expense out for late nights at the office so that’s a moot point |
Lol. The most materialistic character on the show didn't care about his money? Please. She loved the town car, fancy restaurants, and upper east side apartment that was custom decorated with his money. She hated Aidan's KFC and country cottage, didn't think he fit into her NYC uptown girl life style and was embarrassed by him at times. Just like Big had to get over his embarrassment that Carrie was not a classic Calvin Klein upper east side pedigreed girl. |
Big wouldn't even go to her goddaughter's Carnegie Hall debut. Once a selfish @ss, always a selfish @ss. She wasn't mature enough to fully appreciate Aidan's good heart and genuine love until she was older. |
A Big type man would never have a serious relationship with a Carrie type woman. A fling, yes.
|
The creators were gay men and this is their shallow view of how relationships and life work. You can’t seriously analyze this show. |
+1 SATC did an excellent job portraying NYers from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Even though there was a social discrepancy between Big and Carrie, Big was not truly upper class. He was cosplaying as upper class socially due to likely having amassed wealth in his profession as a banker to compete with the upper classes. Like Carrie he was a social climber and his choice of wife reflected that every time. Now that he wanted in , he targeted women from the NYC upper class. The one-time appearance of his mother does raise questions, however, as she had the airs of someone who was upper class. Her behavior contradicts Big's ostentatious displays of wealth and status. So Maybe he Is supposed to also be upper class? |
In addition to all of these great thoughts, I also felt like Carrie was not quite WASPy enough for him. Maybe in his career he needed someone more blue blood. And then there was the fact that she wrote a sex column. Maybe his peers would have thought it was a bit unseemly-kinda like the pee politician said. I kinda saw Natasha as more "virginal" too. I always got the feeling that he loved hanging out with carrie, and loved sex with carrie but she just didnt seem like marriage material to him, and maybe he knew deep down SHE truly wasnt the marrying type-which we clearly saw with Aidan. But Big was always my favorite-BY FAR!. I Was really said when they killed him off immediately in And Just Like That.... i would have loved to see them live happily for a while |
