| Oh my god, the Chantilly Costco is a nightmare. My mil goes there and I've had to go with her a few times. After the first time I started taking Xanax before I went. Can't deal with all the terrible drivers in the parking lot and rude ass people inside. |
You have. Been reported |
Interesting. My son and I were in chantilly last week at a park and he asked for food from Costco's snack bar when we left. We went in to shop around a little and my son said "where are all the savages?" lol. The store was pretty empty. We usually shop at the one in Fairfax and it's terrible. People are so damn RUDE in that store. My son has been pushed out of the way by adults when he was clearly in line for a free sample on multiple occasions. People lose all common decency over some free samples in that store. Pathetic. I wish we lived closer to the chantilly store. It was so calm compared to the Fairfax store. |
It's Ajinomoto, which is a huge brand in Japan. I got hooked on this ramen too and was sad when it disappeared. But it's back now! At least at Chantilly. Or Sterling? We live in between them and don't always go to the same one. UGH! Now I want this Ramen right now. |
| Are the free samples at Costco so great that people stand in line for them? They do it at Giant sometimes and people usually avoid making eye contact just so they won't feel obliged to take a sample. |
Well today I accidentally left my purse in my cart at Costco while I walked 2 aisles away to get something. No one, from any of the many cultures represented, took it. It's also common to park your cart of paid items while you visit the snack bar, and I have never had anything stolen from my cart. The receipt thing is because they don't bag items so it's impossible to know who has been through a cashier, and as someone mentioned there are no low value items at Costco. It would be easy for one bad apple to cost the store $1000 at a time. |
They are substantial (not cheese cubes) but I think it's more that Costco is a special trip for a lot of people, and free food is part of the experience in a way it isn't at Giant. A few weeks ago I actually saw an adult birthday party there: they bought a cake and then ate it in the food court, with balloons. Because of the balloons I know they visited the samples as a group, too. |
Oh, the outrage!
|
+1 And the nice old guy who checks receipts at our Costco draws a smiley face on the back of the receipt when he's done checking. I look forward to it!

I never bother with the free samples. And the people crowded around them always make it difficult to navigate the aisles. Very annoying. |
which soup? |
[b] Np here. If the spirit moves me?? I think you don't know how breastfeeding works/feels. Also I actually don't know that others don't want to see it or that it makes them uncomfortable because there is O rationale for that line of thought. It wouldn't occur to me that others would care. If you feel that way, look away. I see things all the time that are offensive to my eyes and that's what I do. I'm not all about me but I am all about my baby's and my physical discomfort. You and the outraged "I will not show you my receipt" non Costco customer take the cake! Way to make weird topic tangents all about you! |

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this incident that happened at the Sterling Costco. I had a friend who was in the store at the time it happened .

Whoa! Did your friend see the woman? Was she really acting crazy? |
