S/O: Costco stories

I live in Japan, and the Japanese neatly line up in really long lines for samples of raviolis, cheeses, crackers, spreads, etc. I am embarrassed that we are doing this to the Japanese.

The Aldi near me must be the outlier. It was very dirty, the produce was not at all fresh, and the crackers and cheese I bought just tasted off. And I'm not some name brand only, all organic food only, Whole Foods or bust snob.

There is another Aldi opening near me soon so maybe I'll give it another shot.

Weird. The Aldi by me is awesome.

I went to Gaithersburg's Costco today and thought I was in a war-torn country. So many people and so close together. Not my scene at all!

Re: the receipt checking, they are also making sure that you have everything you paid for. Some items, like FVDs and electronics, you have to pick up from a separate counter after you pay. They want to be sure you got those items.

And Sam's checks receipts too.

It's Ajinomoto, which is a huge brand in Japan.

I got hooked on this ramen too and was sad when it disappeared. But it's back now! At least at Chantilly. Or Sterling? We live in between them and don't always go to the same one. UGH! Now I want this Ramen right now.

It was recalled due to Listeria.
