When & why did the whole 'han solo' style take off for women?

Does Hans Solo have a trout pout too?

Now when I see someone walking around wearing this outfit (like every 4 seconds) I think of the thread and start giggling. Thank you!

I like it with a fur vest myself. (My husband calls my look the "mafia wife look'. I REALLY like fur!!!)

I think people caught on the Han Solo look instead of the polyester quilted vest they are wearing fur, which I hate because I also like fur.

I don't know how to embed this picture but here is a great one that I have seen posted from other Dcum posters.

Enjoy!

If it's a fur vest, does that turn it into a Chewbacca look?

Vests are less constricting and more comfortable than coats for running around and the scarf adds a layer of warmth that can be removed. Skinny jeans with stretch or leggings - also streamlined and comfortable and look better than a baggy pair of pants. I dunno - I think it's a good look. I can see why so many adopt it.
I remember when I was younger I always thought it would be cool if everyone dressed like the Star Trek people - the leggings and tunics - seems like a sleek and flattering look for all.

When the weather is cold, ladies. Please do not wear boots when it is over 30 degrees.

I grew up in frigid Niagra and think under 50 is cold.

Seriously. I understand not wearing boots in the summer, but 30 degrees seems a like an extreme cutoff.

Not extreme if people think November 1 is the time to wear nothing but tall boots. Han Solo is a KIND way of putting it. LOL. Do we have to all dress the same, people? How old are we? Does it have to look as ridiculous as possible? Is this a contest?

A few pages back I asked all you DCUM fashionistas to post pictures of alternative outfits you DO approve of. Nothing has been posted. Please. I need to see what types of outfits all of you think are better than this.
