How many tattoos do you have? Do you think tattoos look sleazy on women?

Not sure you get the difference between caring/bothered and noticing. Tattoos are definitely a social marker and a class distinction. See many on the Upper East Side? The beaches of MV? In Cap Ferrat?

Of course not.

Your definition of noticing seems to involve a great deal of thought and judgement.

I was really upset when my adult daughter got a tattoo. Her body. Her decision. But it just screams trashy. I would never tell her that. I think I bit my tongue in half the day I saw it for the first time.

So you judge people by their skin? good to know.

I think most tattoos are an expression of membership in the Cult of Individuality. It's not as liberated of a club as it aims to be.

I think tattoos look dumb as hell, but do you really think Dennis Rodmsn was the inspiration for tattoos lately?

he was. look at pop culture. celebrities and athletes. zero tattoos before that time period. Now, everywhere.

I have none. Depending on the placement I think they look fine. My issue is as people age tattoos look terrible.

I had no idea people were so judgy almost across the board. I have no tattoos but really don't give a damn whether someone else does. But I do think there is a wide range of tattoo quality and taste- some do look tacky, and others look gorgeous.

Housekeeper? Be sure to jump back in and tell us about your trust fund and expensive co-op though, just to prove your point. After all, nobody would ever lie on the internet.

I have one, in a place you can't see unless I show it to you. (spoiler: it's on my butt.) I like it. I'm in a very conservative field so I can only have tattoos you can't see in swimwear (company picnic) or formal wear.

I don't think tattoos look sleazy on women unless the content of the tattoo is questionable. I have some very beautiful, classy friends who have ink.

Also, I'm a respected professional in my field, and many fellow respected professionals in my field also have tattoos. I'm also probably not the 'type' one would expect to have a tattoo.

The times, they are a'changin', and it's not as taboo as you think.

Nobody thinks it's "taboo", just trashy.

Oh no, someone on the internet is judging me! I'll have to tell my mom she did a bad job raising me, because I turned out trashy...

I'm sure she wouldn't notice. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, and it's really not the meanies on the internet that are judging you.
