She sounds like a chipmunk. It grates on my nerves. That accent, the "not even close to RP" English makes you wonder where she went to school.

Can no longer bear to tune into BBC World News America - her nasal sharp tone grates and irritates places in my brain I didn't even know I had.
I'm an ex-pat Brit and it's not so much the regional accent that is the problem as her actual vocal quality, therein lies the rub.
I'm surprised her employers continue to keep her on the air if they knew so many of us are turning off the telly when she's on. Unless they feel it in the pocket I supposed they don't really care that much.

She has, too often a cackle in
her voice...reminds me of the witch voice in my childhood Hansel and Gretel record. She could be trained not to do it.

I think she was chosen for her looks and journalism, but her voice is terrible. I am English and find her accent an embarrassment

Travelian really does have an annoying voice. I have to tune out and switch channels when I see her. She has a phoney accent and just can't pull it off.

I don't care where Laura Trevelyan comes from but her accent on BBC World News America is simply UNBEARABLE. She's had a good run, it's time for the BBC to replace her with a more amenable voice - i'm sure they could pilch someone from Al Jazeera!

Travelyan cannot be fired. Her husband is President of ABC News. You wouldn't think for a moment she got this job in her own vocal skills.....would you!!? She is the most annoying anchor on TV. I change channels as soon as I see her on.

Travelyian has the most annoying voice on television. I think she is Australian trying to sound English. I know she cannot be replaced; however, I have my remote which I use to switch channels whenever I hear her horrible affective voice. Is she trying to sound Upper Class? It doesn't work.

OMG, why don’t they replace her?..most annoying voice!!! This is her job, and does anyone like her voice? Truly unbelievable she is on the air at all.
