Monica Lewinsky - a ton of surgery, right?

Haven't read all the pages, but I don't think she got plastic surgery. She just lost weight.

this a hundred times over. Most of us even well into adulthood wouldn't be able to handle that level of intense scrutiny. Am I the only one who didn't do anything stupid in her 20's? When I think back, the big things that happened, were: I moved out of my parents house, I dumped a friend for being insensitive about 9/11, I broke up with a boy who wanted to get married while I didn't feel ready yet, I got someone fired (he deserved it, but I still feel bad), and I moved across the country from family. None of these were bad choices.

There but for the grace of god, girl! Put into the right (or wrong) set of circumstances, any one of us could become a Monica or suffer a similar fate.

You mean having an affair with your married supervisor? Oh yeah, I don't think so.

If you walked into the President of the United States office and you thought he was charismatic and amazing - yes, even you could lose your inhibitions if he was offering himself up to you.

Monica probably sees things for what they were - now. But at the time she was smitten and on cloud nine that this amazing, powerful man was paying attention to her and wanted her. I'm sure there's a public figure (actor, singer, athlete - someone) who would make you weak in the knees. Especially if you were 22, unattached.

Yeah, most of us would never risk our jobs and our livelihoods over some random superior, even when we're 22. But that isn't what happened here.

I really am conflicted about the whole thing. She wasn't blameless, but HE should have known better. He's a dirty old man who is a predator, but also a brilliant politician. It kills me that he couldn't keep his dick in his pants or at least pick the right places to stick it so that the country didn't have to go through all this nonsense/this will be his legacy.

She was very young and while what she did was "wrong" it was relatively benign and certainly not cause for ruining her entire life.

I agree. I would never have purposely fooled around with a married man at that age. But if the President of the United States had come on to me and I thought he was good looking? Yeah, I think I would have fallen for the same thing that Monica did. Stupid, wrong but understandable.
