Cat Does Not Love Me

He's even grooming you, which is another sign of love. My kitty also sleeps near my head and in the morning holds my head in her front paws and tries to groom my bald head (i lost my hair in cancer treatment) It feels like sandpaper. When I first got her, and interrupted this grooming, she would back away and jump off the bed. Now she lets me pet her gently while she grooms. When she's done, she often snuggles into my neck for nap, allowing me to pet her.

However, if I sit up and try to pick her up and cuddle in my lap, she'll go away. So I just sit up, maybe go to the couch and get comfortable, and call her name to get her to jump up on my lap on her own. Most of the time, she comes, but sometimes she still prefers her private kitty time on her climbing structure. When she's ready, climbs back on my lap.

I have had her for three years and she never lets me pick her up willingly. She will, though, come when I call her.

You're getting there. Just keep communicating with her and enjoying the love she is showing you.

Thank you for sharing this. I have great appreciation and hope after reading. I did not know kitty was grooming me! You give good advice on allowing the grooming and waiting for kitty to complete his licking of me. I am wishing you well to your cancer treatment, friend. Much hope to you.

Tiny ferocious house jaguar does come if I call out "kitty kitty kitty", but ignore all calls of his given name, much like stubborn teenager. He makes much refuse to eat treats or wet food, which makes my heart sad. Only crunchy food for his teeth to munch like bones.

I have now caught him twice at the top of the screen door, hanging by his cat dragon talons, looking outside at the birds... Many more times I suspect he has climbed like small warrior in black furry ninja suit to the top of the screen, but yet only 2 times has he been caught... this may be a plea to continue our walks in the "cat forest". but I know for certain spider screen climbing ninja house jaguar will not be allowed to scale screen. this he will not defeat me.

and he continue to attack ankles. he is master of hide and attack. sigh.

I'm the cancer patient PP and I've been thinking of you today, OP.

How goes it? Any love?

What brought you to mind today was my tiny blind cat, talking up a storm, taking residence on my lap and commencing with the grooming.

Cats be crazy.

Just love OP. So delighted to run across this thread, had not seen it originally.

You and your cuddle withholding tiny jaguar bring much needed smiles and laughter. Better than Prozac.

Hi OP,

The house cheetah came up on the bed this morning for cuddles, only to be lunged at by my 5-lb. treacherous house wolf (cheetah startled her). Cheetah returned and all was well, but the wolf got a talking-to about being nice to the cheetah, who was, after all, here for many years before she was.

Things don't change immediately. How is the jaguar doing?

Oh, hello, I hope you are doing well. My most favorite thing Sir Wilberforce does is talk up the storm to me, he is best at meowing and making noise.

House jaguar is getting huge, he is now 9 months old and SO BIG. I cannot say he is providing any love or cuddles, because he is not, but he does follow me around making meows and he still lunges at me from behind any and all furnitures he can fit behind.

He maybe loves to stalk me and cause me pain as he will run full speed across my chest with the force of one thousand horses so my breasts hurt for 20 minutes - causing me pain is his specialty. He has daily stand off with chipmunk that sits at glass door and looks at him, making mocking eyes that House Jaguar is on the inside and he is on the outside.

+1! Hope your night is much better PP. OP is good for what ails us!

Good thoughts to the PP with cancer and wishing you a remission. Glad you have a furry friend.

This thread reminds me why I hate cats. My dog is lovely, though. Very cuddly and sweet. Doesn't steal jewelry.

Meh, I have large allergy to the dog. They steal my lungs and take away my breath. Cat can have my jewelry. I prefer to keep air.

Again, I try to provide Sir Wilberforce with the treats of the kitty for his enjoyment. I bought a bag of crunchy on outside with soft inside chicken flavour to entice him to make friends with me.

Open this bag, take out several crunchy on outside, soft on inside special treats.

Toss them in many directions onto the floor.

Cat stares at me with look of contempt, not impressed with me or with very delicious cat treats.

Cat walks away and stares at corner forcing me to walk room making squinty eyes to find TINY special uneaten cat treat that ungrateful rude cat rejected.

Walk by ungrateful cat who is glaring at the wall only to be lunged at with a cat who jumps 5 feet into air and attacks my hip then runs sideways out of the room.

Cat is asking foe new home.

Hi OP. I would love a cat who does this. It actually means he loves you and that's his way of playing.

Now I sit on patio outside to enjoy this weather. House Jaguar is on other side of screen inside house meowing with force of dying goat, clawing at door, tossing body into screen and window like his car life has ended.

I walk inside, he stares at me and walks away. Sir Wilberforce, House Jaguar hates me, and in is most dire need of cat prozac.
