So is $250,000 the price of your integrity? (The price of the building I was deciding whether or not to lie on a mortgage app. to buy.)

Wow, I feel bad for your husband.

Comfort does not breed growth.

Put on some lipstick, you'll feel better. (This has always been my mother's solution to everything.)

I also agree with the poster who said "Ask for what you want."

1.Shut up and listen. No one ever learned anything listening to themselves talk.

2. In negotiating---never be afraid of silence. Too many people are afraid of letting a conversation, particularly a negotiation, fall silent, and so just keep talking. At some point, just state your position and sit quietly. It unnerves the other side.

(Works great in business, even better with husbands)

Words from my mother. She is right.

That's just an advice.
It doesn't mean it's an universal truth.

If you love anyone more than yourself you'll suffer.

If I had to pick my child's life, or mine, which would I choose?
My child's of course.
And I'd "suffer" none.
On the other hand, if I had chose my life over my child's, I'd suffer until my last breath.
Is that just me?

It's really a silly comparison.

So, if there was a gun to you and your husbands head and someone had to get shot and you had to make the choice, who would it be?

I would not give up my life for my husband.

Nor any of my in-laws.

You don't really know what you WILL do until you are confronted with the situation. This bragging is pretentious crap.
