+1 my mom gave me this advice also and saved me from an awful marriage. |
Let your kids learn from your mistakes and make their own. |
The only thing that really matters with your kids, is that they grow up to be decent human beings. |
the world is full of mediocrity, don't add to it.
Time is going to pass anyway, might as well be doing something productive (from my mom when I was lamenting going to grad school for a whole TWO MORE YEARS at age 23...bascially she said I can be 25 with a grad degree or I can be 25 without a degree. My choice but god willing I am going to be 25). I always try to remember that whenever the legnth of time becomes a deterrent to me pursuing something. |
My brother told me this advice about men. He said to pay more attention to what they actually do than to what they say. He was drunk at the time but it is very good advice. Also, my grandfather was fond of telling us that God gave us two ears for listening and only one mouth to speak for a good reason. |
Don't let the bastards get you down. |
Be Authentic. (in every thing you do and with every person you interact with) |
Cheesy celeb advice, but true:
Action speaks louder then intent - dr phil If it won't matter in five years, it shouldn't matter now - Cher |
People who have "no decency" live out their meaningless lives in living in obscure places. |
If your word means nothing, then you mean nothing. |
People who have "no decency" live out their meaningless lives living in obscure places. |
Half of the people are crazy; the hard part is figuring out which is the crazy half. |
I like this. |
"Rob a man of everything and that man will no longer be in your power." |
I don't get this. |
