My dad told me to always stand up for myself because there's no guarantee that someone else will.

I've also been told that however I feel about anything is never outside of myself. Basically, I'm responsible for my feelings.

This advice was given to us by the officiant of our Vegas wedding ceremony.

Almost five years later it has helped DH and me navigate the tricky first couple of years as parents, never forgetting to be kind to one another no matter what.
