Thank you for posting the truth here. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. |
Just wanted to let you know it's 2015. |
Very interesting that the Muslim's don't want to assimilate into the German culture. The French are putting these people in military barracks. There's no other space in France. The end of Europe's rich culture? |

So the men just leave for economic reasons and leave the women and children to their fate?Nice.
WSJ today all men in the sea of faces, one woman on the edge of one photo. Other photos all men. |

As I suspected, I think some if not a lot of the men left their families in Turkey or other places. That Syrian who was tripped up by the Hungarian camera woman stated that he left his wife and other kids in Turkey and was going to send for them later.
As a follow up, that man turns out to be a Div.1 soccer coach for Syria, and Spain has offered him a job as a coach to their soccer team. They are trying to get his family to Spain, as well. Nice followup to the story. So happy for them. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/09/17/syrian-tripped-by-hungarian-camerawoman-gets-job-offer-at-spanish-soccer-school/ |
| I don't understand , a lot of you are saying that its perfectly normal for men to travel alone in order to find Jobs... That women and children find it difficult to travel... Ok, true enough , but these people are supposedly REFUGEES . Fleeing from a war torn country, in imminent danger and fearing for their LIVES !!! AND THEY LEFT THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN BEHIND ??? Up yours apologist fools !! ... The P.C. crowd never ceases to amaze me :/ |
A little bit of feedback: Your comment about the oddness of someone fleeing for his life leaving his wife and kids behind actually makes some sense as an argument that he is an economic migrant, rather than a refugee. I'm not sure I would be totally convinced, but I would at least take the idea seriously if you didn't add the last two sentences. Closing your comment with a temper tantrum is counter-productive, assuming your purpose is to convince people who don't agree with you rather than to grandstand for those who do. |

I don't know, but I can't help but think that the current European war refugees would assimilate better into Western Europe than the currently favored refugee group. Why is Europe ignoring the misery and agony of the war refugees in Ukraine? Why is that out of the news now?
I live in Ukraine, and I am shocked on a daily basis by the horror of the situation of (Ukrainian) refugees who have come to Kiev because their town/city/home was destroyed in the past year. There is no money to help these people, who make their way to Kiev and then live horrific lives, often on the streets. There is increased prostitution and crime because of homeless refugees who have no other options. Worst of all, there are hugely understaffed Dickensian orphanages packed full of children from Eastern Ukraine who are newly orphaned, or who were former orphans whose orphanages were destroyed in the war: children are routinely sedated to keep them quit because there are not enough staff/resources to care for them in orphanages here. So, why THOSE refugees and not THESE refugees? Why are the war refugees I see wandering homeless in the parks, and the babies who don't even have clothing, other than the long-in-need of changing filthy diaper they are wearing in their hellhole "orphanage" not being invited to make a new life in Germany? I'm so angry now that my hands are shaking. That is all. |
Do you propose that we deport people from their own country? |
Be ause liberal Americans are all about fads and Arabs are 'in'. I agree, it's disgusting. They need their talking points at their fancy dinners to impress each other. |
It's always easier to help people immigrate in a controlled manner. Nobody is ready for huge numbers on the scale that is happening in Germany. Heck, the US is not offering to take even a tenth of what Germany is taking. And, yes, Westerners have a much more secular relationship with their religions than many other cultures. It's totally understandable that people are concerned about more extreme beliefs that may not coexist very well in their society. It's not easy to build a civil society and, as the situation in Syria shows us, it's all too easy for it to be destroyed. |
Millions of muslims live fine in Germany, and they have for decades. If "assimilate" means you expect them to no longer be muslims, then you are unreasonable. And if you want them to become germans, they need to be given the chance at citizenship. Economic migrants are guest workers. |
Gee, that sounds a lot like our "program" here in the US. Undocumented forever . . . guest workers I suppose. No chance at citizenship. |
I don't understand what you mean by "deport people from their own country"? I know many, many Ukrainians who would jump at the chance to move to Western Europe and have a chance for a job and life for their families if they were invited. Who is talking about "deporting" anyone? I propose that Germany and Europe should offer Ukrainian refugees the same open invitation and aid support that they are giving to Middle Eastern migrants. There are many, many suffering, homeless, jobless Ukrainians whose towns/homes/cities were leveled recently, and these people would jump at the chance to start over in Western Europe. But no. They aren't even covered by Western media. Instead, the EU ignores the Ukrainian refugees next door in favor of importing more refugees from another continent/culture. In 1994, Bill Clinton signed the Budapest Memorandum, which was a commitment by the US and UK to protect Ukraine's borders if Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons (which it did). The US and UK did not honor this commitment when Russia decided to slice off pieces of Ukraine, and in fact, there is STILL fighting in Eastern Ukraine, even though the Western media--for reasons I don't understand--is not covering this issue AT ALL. So I also think the US should, at the very least, be helping the Ukrainian refugees to some extent as well. But no. Ukrainian refugees who lost everything in the war are out of luck. Ukraine and Kiev can't help them because there is no money. Germany and Western Europe are ignoring them in favor of Middle Eastern refugees. The Western media block on Ukrainian refugees and the ongoing situation here chills me because it is actually happening. Incidentally, Ukrainian refugees share enough cultural values and customs with Western Europe that they would integrate easily. I don't understand why they are being ignored. |
