I have to disagree. Outside of Shug Knight, I can't think of anyone from that era who is legitimately (not part of a persona) involved in that lifestyle anymore. 50 cent (like Ice Cube, Diddy, Dr. Dre, Ice T, Jay Z) used rap to break into the entertainment business and music has become an afterthought. Even Kanye West would probably quit rapping if his dreams of being a serious fashion designer came true. These guys know where the money is and it's not in making music.

The ones who appear to be "outta" that lifestyle are now the kingpins-they do not get their "hands dirty", but I would bet $$$ that they are involved in some shady things. They are sort of the heads of the "Black Mafia".
