Please share funny/terrible neighbor stories

What is it about fences? My passive-aggressive neighbors have piled up dirt and compost against the bottom of our fence and it has now started to have boards fall out because of the moisture. Such jack*ss*s.

My neighbors did this. Incredible jack*ss*s. Fence is rotting.

My neighbor fed my dog something to make him sick.

My neighbor brought her sex offender brother to stay with her in the summer.

My neighbor was an alcoholic that wondered the neighborhood in her bathrobe.

My neighbor came in my yard with her ferocious dog because she wanted her dog to be friends with mine.

This neighbor was a renter in homes above 4 million.

Very happy she got a divorce and had to move!!!

That part of the fence is in a part if our yard we don’t see but it birders their patio. She has been composing for 10 years about birds shi**ing on her patio.

Did they mistakenly think the fence belonged to their property? If not, then that’s insane!
I’m with you on the first part, but keeping feeders by their patio doesn’t seem very neighborly if you, especially if you know they’re getting extra bird poop on their patio. Can you move the feeders? I think you’ve gotten your revenge by now!

Are they paying for your pretty back yard? Someone down this street did this to another neighbor (like PP, another renter in a $3-4m neighborhood) and their (renter neighbor) landscapers tried to come into their yard to shear *their* trees! Are you kidding me?? I told the neighbor to plant a large evergreen there, just for that. How do people think they have a right to another person's view, at the expense of that person's privacy - and come into their yard to do it? WTF? GTFOH.

I had a neighbor who tried to acquire my yard. First they planted evergreen trees along the property line. One was actually on my side of the property line and
had to ask them to move it. Every year as they got wider they would mulch the ground a few inches further towards my house. Next she started having the grass cut over the property line. And then cleaning the leaves further over. Every year they moved a little closer.

We had an "elderly" widow that lived next door who kept to herself. A few of the men would go over and help the old lady shovel her driveway. Then we found out that she was about the same age as all of us and just pretended to be old.

Years ago we lived next door to a family with 4 little boys. They all slept in one big room and the bathroom was at the other end of the house. On Christmas Eve and Morning they were not allowed to leave their room to go to the bathroom because of Santa so the mom left bottles for them to pee in. Instead of the bottles they would climb on a table and pee out the window which faced our MBR. For a few years it was a Christmas highlight to see those little boys hanging out the window.

Everyone in the condo building could hear it, particularly from our balconies, so after awhile, it became such a joke that we'd text one another, "ooh, it's Thursday!", etc. When any of us would run into said couple outside, it was hard to keep a straight face.

We were in a hotel one night and at about 11pm the couple in the room next to us were really going at it with moans, groans and the head board banging. It was very entertaining so we followed suit but definitely not as loud. The next morning as we were leaving their door opened and the couple must have been at least 60. It was both shocking and impressive.

The guy across the street from him HATES people parking along any part of his property line (in the public street) so he has spread his cars and both big trash barrels along the front of the sidewalk so no one can park there tomorrow.

Open house....Covid? Great!

When I was a teenager we had a single, I believe Hungarian architect living behind us who had a big deck on the back of his house. During the summer there were often a bunch of topless women sunbathing on the deck. My brothers loved it!

Made me feel better at one point.

Anonymous wrote:I posted before about the hot neighbor in our neighborhood. She is very bubbly. They are wealthy (she has a huge inheritance and investments no one knows about, I may have posted before). I think most people assume it is the husband's money (he has a little, but nothing compared to her).

Anyway, the dowdy neighbors on the street decided they did not want her around. Their husbands would always say how put together she is, what a good mother, you get the idea. This did not bode well for the nasty moms. They kind of banded together to poke at the woman. She didn't really seem to mind, she has a "step over them" mentality that has gotten her where she is. And she is kind IRL, if you know her.

I would want her on my side. I think they took her kindness the wrong way, but she is as brilliant as she is kind.

I consider here a good friend and look to emulate her: nice, educated, successful, great (engaged) mom with great kids, nice house, etc. I think the other moms just couldn't take it anymore, and felt it was too close to home for them. She is cute too, so that did not help the nasty brigade.

Whenever I see catty moms, I think of her and how kind she is, and how it has gotten her where she is. She doesn't pay any mind to negative, and she puts a lot of stock in karma.

For every 1,000 nasty women, there is one like my friend. She is truly an inspiration.

Maybe this should be on the the nice neighbors thread, but I thought it applies to both.

Just to be clear, you think karma is the reason she has a huge inheritance and investment portfolio and is hot? I don't think karma works that way.

She is the nicest person I know, which counts for good karma coming her way; but does not account for her good fortune, as she and her family are very hard working.

I do believe hard work, and choosing your battles, pays off in the end.

I don't think she cares how you think karma works, frankly.

You seem to be oddly in awe of this friend. While I believe you that your friend is kind, it’s incredibly naive to think kindness is what’s gotten her where she is. Having a huge inheritance and never having to worry about money is what allows her to live a largely carefree life — not the other way around. I’ve met many women who were incredibly kind in their 20’s/30’s abd got burned hard by life. Without the cushion of financial security, it’s very easy to become bitter.

My close relative was in a feud with his neighbor for 5 years until the county put a stop to it. They bought about 150 acres in CA wine country and built a nice house surrounded by mountains, one neighbor whose home was about 5 acres away. Nothing around for miles, peace and quiet and lots of room to ride their horses etc. Then all of a sudden the neighbor sold their home to a realtor. Against county and zoning laws he turned it into a wedding venue for high dollar weddings. Next thing you know trucks are going down the dirt road with band equipment, dancing floors...the whole 9 yards. When he approached the neighbor he was told they would only have a few weddings a year initially. Well apparently the money was so good he could just pay the fines and continue operating. There were countless dates to change the law, and stop this kind of thing. In the meantime my relative did all kinds of things to put a damper on these weddings that were disturbing them. Music until very late were met with visits from the sheriff. One weekend as the minister was reading the vows outside my relative invited his friends to do a little skeet shooting whereby the mother of the bride was so enraged she jumped over their fence to give give them a piece of her mind. Instead she got a ear full. The weddings continued almost every weekend, and my relative did all kinds of things to put a stop to them. The last straw was someone almost started a fire by driving over dry grass. From putting skunk oil on their fence to having a bunch of junk along their fence, whereby the guest would be seeing all that. Finally the laws changed, and the business dropped off because of the bad reviews the owner was getting. Seems my relatives tactics finally worked, but it was a LONG feud!
