This though I find it strange to do anything at the ceremony.

How would people see it if you gave it privately without an audience?

If your insta followers see you give flowers at home, they will probably think it's photoshopped. Best to give them infront of everyone so the girls can see who got the Biggers, most expensive bouquet and is therefore has more intrinsic value as a person.

Parents etc have been giving girl flowers for at least 60 years! I graduated in 1962 and got flowers from my parents and other relatives.
Thank you. Tracey

Flower or candy leis.

We gave our DS a celebratory meal after graduation. THAT'S what a boy truly wants.

A big high five and big genuine smiles where your face lights up and hugs or handshake if they are not hugging types. And a good meal they want. And probably some personal time with friends to exchange their thoughts and feelings.

Do they do balloons?

My DD graduates next week. I didn't realize that girls are normally handed flowers. Is this true? How common is it? Will she be the only one not getting flowers if I don't get her any?

I just attended my nieces graduation. There 450 kids and I saw about 5 girls get flowers. My niece got nothing at actual graduation. Party next day she got lots of cards and cash and a few gifts at her party.

OF gift card.

I'm amazed at how many people don't understand this question. I'm on this post to get ideas of what to get my son in lieu of flowers and balloons and some of the answers are so perplexing!

We need more Pacific Islanders in this area. The answer has to be leis—flower leis, candy leis, photo leis, whatever. On the west coast, graduates wear layers and layers of lais—not just PIers. It’s such a lovely tradition.

I think cuff links and a tie clip would be appropriate or a pen set maybe!! Just spitballing!!

We are not giving my son anthing after graduation, like flowers, it's just dumb to have to carry crap around.

For the actual gift we got him a new driver and 7 iron.
