Do you just make this stuff up, or do you get it straight from talk radio?

Bachmann is under investigation by the House ethics committee, as well as possibly the FBI, the FEC and the Iowa Senate Ethics Committee (for allegedly making secret payment to a state senator in an effort to win the Iowa caucuses).

Are you going to suggest that all of those bodies are simply targeting the Tea Party?

While Bachmann spoke out frequently for the Tea Party, she was not the "head". The Tea Party has no "head" and there is not one Tea Party.

It is quite clear that Bachmann's campaign screwed up big time. Her own chief of staff is testifying against her.

If I were in a situation where I might say something that could inadvertantly incriminate me, I would take the 5th too. Then again, my father was a criminal defense lawyer who would never give any quarter to the prosecution.

Indeed.

The shallowness, ignorance of Constitutional law and rights, and just plain fucking idiocy is rampant.

We're back to the days of a moron like Ed Meese, disgraced former Atty General, who was such a stupe he said "if they weren't guilty they wouldn't be suspects."

pp .. correction, I think ol' Ed said "if they were innocent they wouldn't be suspects."

He was a world class dumb fuck.

I don't understand why an apology would be made by the IRS if there was no wrong-doing on their part.

Political Correctness. They profiled. Even if it made sense to examine these groups it is politically incorrect to target them.

So, do you think profiling in this situation is politically incorrect or wrong? I think it's wrong for the IRS to profile and target anyone.

Did you see what you wrote? And you don't see the issue?

Of course I see the problem with profiling. But these groups should by and large not be 501 c 4's, and therefore there is not much harm done. They weren't denied something that they were due.

There was a TON of harm done! You have found out your government approves of this type of behavior and that should scare the hell out of you.

No, what scares me is black and hispanic people getting pulled over and sometimes detained for the color of their skin. A minor delay in filing for non-tax status does not scare the hell out of me. Any of these groups could have filed 527's, which is what they absolutely should have done.

Get some freaking perspective.

Absolutely, your example of profiling black and Hispanic people is wrong. Note that I didn't just say politically incorrect. That doesn't make the issue of the IRS profiling US citizens a minor one. I suggest that you also need to acquire some perspective.

Clearly, the IRS has employees who don't want to limit tax revenue--or their salaries.

Clearly?

Sounds like some Tea Party crack-party non sequitur to me.

Are you under the impression that tea party groups turn a profit and pay taxes?

Yes it the government going after Tea Partiers. It's Obama and Nancy attacking their enemies with the powers of government. I hope congress has hearing on this.

Seriously? You think the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives can get the Ethics Committee to investigate a member of Congress out of partisan politics? You are nowhere near reality.
