I don't understand why an apology would be made by the IRS if there was no wrong-doing on their part.

Political Correctness. They profiled. Even if it made sense to examine these groups it is politically incorrect to target them.

Of course I see the problem with profiling. But these groups should by and large not be 501 c 4's, and therefore there is not much harm done. They weren't denied something that they were due.

There was a TON of harm done! You have found out your government approves of this type of behavior and that should scare the hell out of you.

No, what scares me is black and hispanic people getting pulled over and sometimes detained for the color of their skin. A minor delay in filing for non-tax status does not scare the hell out of me. Any of these groups could have filed 527's, which is what they absolutely should have done.

Get some freaking perspective.

Intrusion? Really, asking for a list of speakers is soooo intrusive.

Seriously, why did they need/want a tax break anyway? I bet none of these groups even had investment income.

They could have easily gotten a tax cut if they filed as 527's.

Ooh, the letters were signed by Tax Law Specialists. I am sure they eat lunch with Obama all the time.

What about Buchmann? She was the head of the Tea Party. She is not running again as a direct result of the IRS targeting the Tea Party. She is under some kind of investigation.

I am confused. The republicans make Obama out to be a master mind controlling the power of the federal government and at the same time incompetent at run the government.
