My son is in 5th grade. New to this place. Took the test. I didn't get the score yet. Any idea when will we get the scores?

how many kids have The chance to get into AAP?
Anonymous
60-70%

Don't you think it will be higher than 70% given that the FAT and cutoff really limited the pool?

She's a quirky learner- thoughtful and curious but not a great writer or into math. So why stress....and just let her be. Opinions welcome as I'm confused.

AAP is usually a great place for quirky learners. The teachers "get" these kids and encourage and nurture them. Maybe she seems average but maybe she has a lot of potential that is not being drawn out right now.

Good luck to you and your child!

Maybe. NNAT still too loose. My guess is around 15% in pool, 12% eligible. They should get it down to 12% in pool, 10% eligible, likethe old days.

I agree with you. Do you really think NNAT would get 10% more kids in pool on top of FAT? Last fall before cogat at the info session, my DC's school does not have many kids passed 130 NNAT.

My DD's NNAT score is 155(99 percentile), CogAT VQN is 90. Any chances of getting in?
Anonymous
Your DD's scores are similar to my DS's scores NNAT 146 - 99% CogAt VQN 90%. He has a 16 GBRS from his teacher and the AART said that he has a very good chance of getting in. I did submit the parent questionnaire, a parent letter, and additional work samples and certificates.

PP, when can we request GBRS? For your DS, GBRS of 16 is too good and highest probability to get through in 1st round.

I have heard you can request GBRS after the file has been turned over to the Central Selection Committee. This date varies from school to school, but should be by mid-March, I imagine.

how did you get the GBRS known so early? Did you talk to the teacher?

This seems questionable. The score is supposed to be determined by a committee, not a sole teacher. Maybe that's what the teacher said they wold recommend, but I doubt it's been determined already.

The AART told me that the teacher had filled out the GBRS with commentary and would present it to the committee this week. She said that the committee would not change the score only edit some of the comments if necessary. (I know the AART from outside of school.)
