Have you ever walked outside a Kumon or any other prep place? Have you seen the racial composition of the kids who attend such places? I am sorry if you are an exception, but it's not "stereotyping" if something is true for the majority of a population!

I'm sorry if you think sending to kumon/abacus or whatever for enhancing math and reading abilities is prepping in your world.

Mine was very consistent:
NNAT 142 (99%)
FxAT (Verbal 88%, Non-Verbal 99%, Quantitative 99%, VQN 98%)

Wonder if I still need prepare anything for the package with that score.

You do not NEED to prepare anything. If you WANT to prepare anything is a separate matter.

My dd had similar scores last year and was in the pool. Her 2nd grade teacher had excellent work samples from class for her so I did not add anything else. She got in. If you are concerned you should ask your dc's teacher whether he or she feels the school samples are representative of your child's abilities. I hear that stuff from parents are not weighed as heavily as the school work anyway since it may not be a hundred percent the child's work.

Fabulous scores. I don't think you need to do anything. My kid's CogAT is lower at 96% but NNAT similar to your kid's and I plan not to do anything.

What to do? My kid has 145 NNAT and high 60's on. Cogat and is in pool but so average (and happy) at school. Leaning towards not going AA Route even if she gets in. She's a quirky learner- thoughtful and curious but not a great writer or into math. So why stress....and just let her be. Opinions welcome as I'm confused.

I would do nothing. Make an early decision that she is average and get her solidly in the 48% now. It will save a lot of angst in the long run.

My kid scored 48 percentile NNAT and 49 percentile on COGAT. Should I refer him for level 4 AAP. He was sick during her cogat.

Is there a limit on the number of times he can take cogat and nnat. She generally does well in school. I am planning on making him retake the test this year. Any input greatly appreciated

Refer away. Every year. Practice test everyday.

Where does 48% come from? To PP, wait and see if found eligible, then decide.

No chance to get into GT, because there is no GT any more. It's AAP now.
The chance to get into AAP is the same as the rest of roughly 1500 kids. The NNAT is high, but the CogAT is low. If the GBRS is 13/14 or higher, much better chance.
If not get in this round, do every other helicopter parents do: get WISC and appeal.
