Suggest a great bag under 1k

Hmm... a little defensive maybe??? And no, I'm not a "cleaning lady" I went to a very good school and now my child goes to one. You certainly did show what a despicable person you are with that comment. The fact that they own beautiful paintings that have been passed down in their families for generations is not, in any way, comparable to spending three thousand dollars on a ridiculous bag that you will give to goodwill when it goes out of style. I'm sorry but I place a much higher value on truly beautiful art than on a crappy bag that was probably made in a sweatshop. But then, that wouldn't bother you would it? Also, art is worth more to some people than money.

1) You can go to "a very good school" and still be a cleaning lady. Your nose-pressed-against-the-window admiration for the rich suggests as much (and they can certainly afford to hire a decent private school graduate as their maid).
2) One can find great art at much less than millions or tens of of millions of dollars. And you can buy a great copy of any famous painting for less than 100,000 dollars. There are like 3-4 people in the world who could tell that the painting is not the original. But of course, those arts lovers just have to have the multimillion original thing in their bathroom.
3) Great pieces of clothing do not go "out of style". If you had any style, you would know it.

Please. If you think expensive clothing is nothing more than conspicuous consumption signifying status, don't lecture me on food and art, when those, too, are the same thing.

Oh please. That is not what I meant. I only mentioned the schools to explain why I am friends with a lot of old money people. I do not admire them because of their money. They are my friends and I like them. That's all. I also understand why they choose to keep their fabulous art collections in their families. I would do the same thing. As far as your assertions about style go, I don't give a shit. Enjoy your conspicuous consumption and your judgements about other women's style choices. I just wanted you to know that all of the cool people think you're pathetic.

Your lack of self-awareness is kind of amusing. You are the one who judges people who spend a lot of money on clothing. And that's fine! I judge you, too. I think (or would think if I saw you) that you are ugly and have no style and - and this I know even without seeing you - that you are brown-nosing to your rich friends (that you made special effort to get close to as laws of probability certainly don't predict that you would get to know so many just because you went to the same college).

Make sure to mention this discussion to your "friends" - maybe they will let you pee in their bathroom while thinking to themselves how clueless you are re: how much they actually spend.

Aw You poor thing. Your feelings are hurt that the really rich people think you're silly and tacky so now you have to lash out at me and call me ugly. Nothing you could possibly say will hurt my feelings because you are despicable. My friends love me. I love them. I know what they spend on clothes because we discuss everything and we respect each other. See, I could afford your stupid bags if I wanted them. I just really, really don't. And no one thinks I'm ugly but it's kind of cute and sad that you are grasping at straws to find a way to insult me.

No one keeps Rembrandts - or Picassos, or any kind of valuable art - in their bathroom, regardless of how rich they are. Real art collectors would never do that to a painting.

I am not lashing out - I am calmly guessing that, in all probability, you are ugly. I don't know that for sure, of course, but there exist a positive correlation between beauty and interest in fashion. That's just a fact. I am also not trying to insult you, I couldn't care less how you feel. I might be insulting you, sure, but that's tangential to my interest in the topic.

And I don't doubt that you could afford "stupid bags". Most people can, but they don't want to and choose to spend their money on other things. Yet they insist that, with the little money they invest into their bags (or whatever) they are getting exactly the same quality as those who spend more. In other words, that in clothing alone, money doesn't buy quality, it's just there to show-off. That's why cheapos are covered in labels and logos - they think that's what the spenders are after and they think they are getting at a bargain price. Oh the foolish "tacky" spenders with not a single logo on them!

Okay, I exaggerated. One of them had a very small Picasso in a powder room. The rest were in the nicer parts of the house. And you are just wrong about that. When I was a kid I went to a famous music industry guy's apartment and he had original Picassos all over the place. Even leaned against walls. Rich art collectors can be very eccentric.

You-all are funny. Seriously, go knock yourself out buying 1k handbags. Maybe all my demented little old lady patients have 1k handbags, that's why they clutch them so frantically.

From what I see, breeding shows in your actions, not your clothes. Go on with your bags, because your language clearly shows that you are no lady, nor do you have a ladylike bone in your body.

Otherwise, have a nice day and enjoy your leather-like objects.

Every fucking bag in the store. Who the fuck spends $1,000 on a handbag???

Seriously! If I had the money, I wouldn't do it. I'd rather purchase things that will last to give to my children and grandchildren or are extremely useful for our home.

1) I don't buy 1k handbags. You don't really get great quality for that price.
2) "Breeding" my now show in clothes, but taste certainly does. You have no taste.

You, too have a nice day and don't overwork yourself changing adult diapers.

I'll take breeding over taste any day, yours is questionable. Neither can be acquired.

And I wear the equivalent of pjs to work each day, earn a good salary, and at the end of the day, I've made a positive difference in people's lives. I don't. Red to purchase expensive accoutrements to bolster my self-esteem.

15:42 here. You're talking to someone else and now you have really stooped to a new low. You are insulting a health care professional because she works with elderly people? How do you live with yourself? How can anyone stand you? I can tell you just from the little bit I know about you that NO ONE really likes you. You might have people who pretend to but no one really does. It's impossible to like someone like you. Enjoy your lovely bags though.

The "health care professional" called her patients "demented little ladies" and implied they were pathetic for "frantically clutching" their purses.

You obviously think you are very perceptive and powerful with your "NO ONE really likes you" but the only thing that upsets me there (which is your goal, obviously) is how boring it is and how little effort you put into it. But then, maybe this is the best you can do

Oh hell. I love my demented little old lady patients, but that is what they are and what they do. Obviously you've never run into medical humor, and you might as well laugh about something while you are trying to start an iv on someone who got a DUI on a power scooter and is screaming that you are killing her. They aren't pathetic, it is what they are.

Again, you have neither breeding, taste, manners nor common sense. You aren't even particularly good at vitriol. Have fun, though. Buy yourself all the self-esteem you can afford.
