| I bought a cute Kate Spade black and white bag for everyday use. $110. |
| Look into Mulberry and Kooba. I'm actually liking JCrew bags - classic, I think around $300. Prada is right over the $1k mark. |
| I like Coach and Kate Spade |
Because fashion without function is pointless |

Ugh please don't mention Kate spade or coach. Barf. I don't think those of us talking about high quality designer bags were referring to those brands.
And yes, you typically can tell the difference between a $2000 bag and a $100 bag. Also between $200 jeans and wranglers. (although I do believe often some of the in between brands can be as good, as I pointed out in the jeans thread, eg j brand and Ann Taylor). Its not just the label. |
| I suggest you spend $750 on a plane ticket to Buenos Aires and then buy a beautiful bag for $150 (peso is 4 to the dollar, you can get something amazing for this) and spend the rest on an excellent steak dinner and a mid-range hotel. |
| Try Patio Bullrich in Recoleta and the boutiques in Palermo Hollywood and San isidro. |
Ok sorry I bothered to post. You keep your high quality bag and I'll keep my Kate Spade bag (and my millions in investments). LOL. |
This one is already sold out! |
| I think the TB bag in navy sounds great. I love the color navy for this season. |
Because I'm sick of women's pants without pockets that will even hold a cell phone. It is freaking ridiculous. Men's clothing manages to have nifty pockets, buttons in useful places, and is made to be tailored. At the same price point, women's clothing is cheaply made, has little fake nonfunctional pockets, and is difficult if not impossible to alter without disassembling the entire garment. Women's pants get possibly 3 inseam choices, men get them every inch or two at the most, if they don't come unhemmed to be hemmed to order. Some of us actually work in clothing: something besides sit in an office and shuffle papers. |
I like that TB bag, too. And honestly ... people spend money on different shit. Do I have $1k for a bag? No. If I did, would I spend it on a bag? Sure, if I loved it. Some recommendations for OP: Kooba Rebecca Minkoff Botkier (I love, love, love this brand) Marc by Marc Jacobs (you might be able to find an actual MJ bag in your price range, but you'd likely have to buy through Bonanza or elsewhere secondhand) Linea Pelle (a friend of mine has the Dylan Medium Tote and it's super nice) Treesje Belen Echandia (check out their bespoke service) I like Mulberry, like a PP mentioned, but I don't think your $1k would go far enough there. Reed Krakoff and Alexander Wang might also be doable. If you're feeling super adventurous, check out Opelle on Etsy. I love the look of the ballet bag. |
250 for a paper bag. You people can't be serious. |
Stop trolling. Nobody suggested that bag - it was posted by some cheapo convinced her $50 bag looks great. |
