It only took this thread 9 pages to develop into a full-blown war..

Obviously you've never run into medical humor, and you might as well laugh about something while you are trying to start an iv on someone who got a DUI on a power scooter and is screaming that you are killing her. They aren't pathetic, it is what they are.

Again, you have neither breeding, taste, manners nor common sense. You aren't even particularly good at vitriol. Have fun, though. Buy yourself all the self-esteem you can afford.

Exactly. I also wonder how much she paid for her nose and her breasts and flat stomach. She thinks beauty=fashion but in my experience, people who were born beautiful don't feel that they have to work so hard to get attention. It's kind of like the old money people: they are born with those things so they don't have to try so hard. Anyway the PP is correct in that I have not tried very hard to insult her. I am not that kind of a person. When I said that no one likes her I was stating a very simple fact which is evident to everyone who has read this thread.

Every fucking bag in the store. Who the fuck spends $1,000 on a handbag???

Seriously! If I had the money, I wouldn't do it. I'd rather purchase things that will last to give to my children and grandchildren or are extremely useful for our home.

Quality handbags do last and I fully intend to hand mine down to my daughters, just like my mom gave me her vintage Chanel and Celine bags and 70s Vera and Leonard scarves.

They are not going to want them. I'm sure they would much prefer if you invested the money and gave that to them. When I was born my dad invested about $3,000 for me and now it's a small fortune.

They are not mutually exclusive. I do save for my children. And just because you don't want them doesn't mean they won't. I was ecstatic to have cool vintage designer bags. They are actually worth quite a lot more than my mom paid for them, incidentally, but I wouldn't sell them so that's beside the point.

You will have tomboy girls who would rather have their daddy's lathe and suchlike. They won't even want your vintage dead animals----of course your son might....

Those are for the unwashed masses trying to look wealthy

Interesting. I bought my Kate Spade because white with black spots was a cute pattern and goes with a lot of my stuff. I try not to look wealthy. Why would I want anyone to know we have millions?

I bought my coach because it made the perfect diaper bag.

I am the poster who loathes Kate spade and coach. To me these brands are the epitome of buying a bag for the brand. I don't think of them as particularly stylish or high quality. And they scream dc the way a Lilly Pulitzer dress and a j crew necklace do. If I am going to spend that money I would opt for something more stylish. Rebecca Minkoff. Kooba. Even Tory butch.

Sorry, not tomboys. The older one loves to play dress up in my closet and has already claimed her stake on a few of my bags.

Right now she's just modeling her shallow mommy's behaviors. They do get their own personalities later, you know. Just wait.

If that's what you need to think and hope to make you feel good about yourself, knock yourself out. I don't judge people based on how much they spend on things. I just happen to enjoy nice handbags and shoes. If there is anyone here that is shallow it is you.

Some women like designer bags. Just like some men like high end audiophile equipment. I don't care OP spends 50% of her income or 0.1% of her income on these bags. As long as she does not rob the bank to buy her bags, it is nobody else's business.

well put. i don't know why everyone is getting so worked up about this. everyone has their things they like to spend money on. for some its bags, shoes, jewelry, whatever. for others its cars. for others it is surround sound in their homes. for others its collectors edition comic books or bobble heads or whatever. why does it bother you so much?
