I intentionally caused myself to have a miscarriage. Even my DH doesn't know. It was very early in the pregnancy. He was relieved when I miscarried and he had a vasectomy a few weeks later. Sometimes I feel very guilty, as I was raised Catholic. But most of the time I feel guilty that it doesn't bother me nearly as much as I think it should.
This is the first time I've admitted it to anyone. |
Huh. I was aware of programs to sterlize individuals who were deemed deficient in some way, but had no idea that poverty was a factor. This must have been around the time of the Great Depression, no? Lot of poverty going around just then... |
Um, a large portion of people selected for these eugenics programs were nothing other than poor. Read up on your history. See, e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buck_v._Bell. "Feeblemindedness" was the excuse they used to sterlize thousands of people who were just poor and/or uneducated. |
| "Um", no need to get snotty, 16:05. I admitted I hadn't been aware that poverty was a factor. I know the broad outlines of the history, though I somehow negelected to read each and every court case ever filed on the issue-- mea culpa. Anyway, as you're undoubtedly aware, history is written by the victor. All I ever read about it was that it was for the mentally ill, the mentally retarded, and certain kinds of criminals. |
not here to judge - just curious but how did you cause your miscarriage? |
I researched it and bought the ebook from this site - http://www.naturalmiscarriage.org/ Basically, I took natural herbs and vitamins. Including adding a lot of Vitamin C power to my water. No, I don't know "for sure" that I caused it. But I did miscarry within a week and I've never had any misscarriages previously. |
who knew there was a homeopathic method for abortion? |
Well. |
Off the top of my head? Only every "wise woman" in every community for most of the history of humanity. |
I disagree. You have to research it, because everyone is afraid to talk about it logically or openly without emotion. |
Let's not overlook the role of coincidence. |
And the fact that black athletes dominate their sports mean that all black people have a muscular frame? WTF? Do you think that Manute Bol, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Mike Tyson all have the same build? That Barack Obama and Clarence Thomas are superior athletes? You are completely illogical. |
Sorry, language fail. I meant midwife. (Sage femme in French means midwife, but translates to wise woman.) Women have always been able to go to midwives for abortions. Not without shame or stigma, of course. But the knowledge has always been around. |
|
"Of course there are black people with poor muscle tone, no matter what they do, but as a whole black people are much stronger and more athletic than whites. "
This is truly frightening that someone believes this in 2011. It's the kind of extreme racism that was used to justify slavery. |
I'm pretty sure that the knowledge has been around for thousands of years in every civilization. |
