| 5'2" and 117 lbs. I just here after losing about 15 lbs of flub, and my kids are 5 and 7. I didn't do anything, I just don't have time to eat. And if I lose more than 5 lbs more then my ribs (back and FRONT) show. Ew. |
| 5'3'' and 116.5 lbs. I'm trying to get back to my pre-preg weight of 107 lbs, but dang, I am just too tired and don't have the motivation. Sigh.... |

I was the PP who was a size 6 at 155. Never said I was thin, only that I was in great shape. "Thin" is not the only shape that can be great. I am super curvy and will never have a typical thin body, but I certainly had a slammin body in those days. And perhaps "crazy skinny" was a bit of an exaggeration, but for me and my body, it would not look attractive or healthy. |
| 5'10 and more than 300 lbs. I'm trying to lose it. Considering surgery. |
| 5' 5" 135# . Was 120 back in the day. Was 128-129 forever, started working again, stopped exercising so much, metabolism slowing down, exercising again like crazy, trying to eat right, can only lose a couple of lbs. at a time. Am I supposed to eat only rabbit food??? Growing old is not for sissies. F%#K. |
As someone who's not a trainer, and is just now trying to take serious leaps toward weight loss, I would be very interested in knowing how I can determine my own body fat %.. thanks |
| 5'0 and 113. Just did weight watchers and lost 40 pounds of baby weight. I learned that it's all input, not output. I've always exercised, but ate ate ate! Increased fiber, decreased fat, decreased calories. Feel great! |
I keep reading about people's "metabolism" slowing down. How do you know? I would not use that as an excuse. Losing weight is not difficult if you reduce what you eat. Exercise all you want, it's great for maintaining your weight and for your health, but don't count on it as weight loss magic. Really, really monitor what you're eating. I will almost guarantee you it's *not* your metabolism, it's something you're doing. The whole metabolism thing along with people who think that after exercising for 2 weeks they're gaining serious muscle irritate me. |
| I'm 5' 9" and 108 lbs. Baby is 2 years old. |

It's weird to me how many people know their exact weight, and how many think that some odd number of pounds is the right amount to lose. "I weigh 137, but would love to get down to 131" type posts.
For me (5'7", weigh between 140 and 150), if we're not talking 10 pounds or more, it's not going to make a difference in how I feel or how my clothes fit. Also, I almost NEVER weigh myself. My clothes started getting looser over the course of several months, so I finally hauled out a scale and weighed myself. I was down 15 pounds from what I thought my weight was. Of course, I don't diet or exercise either. Maybe monitoring your exact weight down to the single pound is a motivator for that sort of thing? |
I just figure that's what it is because I used to eat enormous amounts of food without it affecting my weight much. It must be my Mirena IUD. I'm getting rid of that thing. BUT my trainer did say metabolism is basically gone at 50, I'm 48. |
No offense but is this a typo? |
Again, depends on frame size and how big (or not) you are to start with. I am 5'9 and 125lb, and you can bet that 3-5lb makes a (somewhat) significant difference. Probably even more so on someone who is 5'2 and 105lb. If I said I weighed between 120-130lb, that is a pretty big range over a couple of clothing sizes. |
No. I'm a size 12 and I'm 5'5", weigh 230 lbs. I also "carry weight well and my measurements are comparable to a much lighter woman. I do wish I weighed less, but I have some health issues that make losing weight a nightmare. I've been on a strict diet and exercise regimen, but lost only 10lbs in a year. |
