They bought oakton and there's nothing wrong for wanting to stay where they bought for. It's surprising to see so many people think they know better than those who actually live in crossfield area. It moves 1000 kids out of Westfield--which wasn't overcrowded--and only one group of poor kids out from Centreville.

It makes no sense. FCPS has completely lost the plot.

No kids north of 50 belong at Westfield. They never should have been there. It is geographically and socially isolated from the other Westfield neighborhoods.

+1 I don’t think PP realizes where those kids actually live. They are clustered very close to and north of Skyview. No one actually lives in the area south of Discovery Square down to 50.

Floris has 1 or 2 SPAs south of the airport. Both have <10 students. I guess the consultant looks at Floris in bulk and Avion Parkway is 1.8 miles to Westfield and 4.5 to Skyview. It's an isolated Floris feed overlooked and needs to change. for all 3 levels

And Floris/McNair/Coates at Westfield only happened because FCPS over-built (then policy was 2000 student max) then immediately expanded Westfield rather than also building out Carson as a secondary as Carson was designed.

The goal was always to relieve capacity at Chantilly, Centreville and Westfield.

Oakton and South Lakes were included in the boundary study because of their proximity to Skyview but they were not the main target. This point was clear from the beginning.

Chantilly is going to see a meaningful relief.

I do think they should move more Centreville kids to Westfield.

Incorrect. When the building was purchased FCPS and multiple school board members justified it by saying it would keep kids from having to go all the way from Herndon to Oakton HS. That was one of the main justifications.

I think most here worry about what high school their kids will attend. Just buy closest to that high school, and you won’t have to worry about being rezoned.

The old ES Scenarios included some slices that were on different boundaries. Not sure whether they've added SPAs since the above or they chopped a few to make their numbers work.
