Moderately MOCO is RW leaning

They are not moderate

Bingo. He tries to disguise it. When you call him out, he pulls the old, "who, little old me???"

Another insulting post aimed at Wootton, a majority Asian school.

Again the majority of the Wootton people demanding in testimony that the building get fixed and stay open in place no matter the budget constraints are privileged Caucasians! But they’re hiding behind the majority Asian school “cause” so they can be offended.

Reread the original article linked in the OP, which references insults of smelly food of Asians. And, now this reference to a smelly school?

You can try to deflect, but it doesn't work.

Well, their food is smelly. Fish sitting in a lunchbox all day tends to smell.

Go ahead and prove the point. Asian hate is alive and well.

There are all types of Asians, but the sort that is in W schools are materialistic in a way that definitely reflects racism and classism. I don't think they realize it from inside their echo chamber.

Most Asians are not like this thankfully and we choose to stay clear of those clusters.

So you are saying every Asian person at a W school is racist and classist?

No because many Asian families are happy about the move to Crown.

Sorry you are racist and classist per the PP.

He/she/they said “There are all types of Asians, but the sort that is in W schools are materialistic in a way that definitely reflects racism and classism.”

Not the ones happy about the move.

No, actually even the ones happy about the move are racist and classist per the PP comment. They said they “sort that is in W schools” is racist and classist, and don’t forget materialistic.

You bought into Wootton. You are thus racist, classist, and materialistic.

There’s no nuance.

Does this vast generalization upset you? Because vast generalizations are bad?
So…ergo…an elected official calling all dissenters racist…is this good or bad?

Obviously what Rita said was bad. But hey, I am glad to know her true thinking, which I will remember in case she decides to run for office again. Hard no on Rita Montoya as an elected public official.

Look! We’re in agreement.
Rita Montoya sucks.
She’s worse than even Thomas Taylor—what an incredible achievement.

All of the Black people are laughing at you. You hated the last superintendent, Monifa McKnight and then you got the holy grail, a white man and he has now made a Black man the principal of predominantly Asian Wootton and is also forcing Wootton to integrate. We could not have written a better ending.

You speak for all black people? There are black people who oppose H. Do you speak for them too?

I speak for the people who hated the last superintendent, Monifa McKnight and then got the holy grail, a white man, who has now made a Black man the principal of predominantly Asian Wootton and is also forcing Wootton to integrate. I thought I was clear! Yes, we are laughing at all of you! And yes, I speak for ALLLLLLL Black people. Kind of like how you know that ALLLLLL of those Asian parents at the BOE meeting weren't racist. Do you speak for all of them? See how that works?

Forcing Wootton to integrate? Are you saying Wootton is a segregated school right now? You are so credible and rational!

Never claimed to speak for all Asian people nor did I claim to speak for all parents at the BOE meeting. If you are saying specific ppl in the room were racist, great pull up receipts and call them racist.

Can we please not pretend Rita Montoya is a great ally?

“BOE Member Rita Montoya has lost her mind. I’m in a The Montgomery County Board of Education meeting in the audience and she yelled out my name and accused me of making a comment/heckling her, and I was not speaking, all as they voted to shut down the only charter school in the county, accusing them of special education violations that they themselves are guilty of. Get it together so called leadership. The anti-Blackness is OUT OF CONTROL. Ms. Montoya, disrespect is NEVER tolerated over here.”

And

“Rita Montoya The Montgomery County Board of Education of Education member. Oh Rita.

Did you REALLY feel so unsafe at a County Council Educational Committee meeting that you had to have MULTIPLE security professionals summoned come to your aid against a Black community member?

SECURITY WITH A MASK ON??????!

Committee members: WHICH OF YOU CONSIGNED WITH HAVING SECURITY CALLED ON A BLACK WOMAN? The only non-government person in the room? Because someone was uncomfortable? Why do you all see us as DANGEROUS when we ask for ACCOUNTABILITY??

Rita, et. al. STOP ignoring community members, set meetings as appropriate, and presume WE ARE THE ONES WHO need protection.

You will earn every dollar you take from me to fund this county.”

Rita is an equal opportunity hater.

It’s not a cut. It’s the council not giving mcps the 5% increase they asked for.

Why does mcps need an increase since enrollment is down as they claim?

Here’s a thought…maybe instead of firing all these teachers, mcps should solve its bloat?

It’s high time for mcps to be told NO

Rita Montoya is presenting herself as representing all MCPS families, but her activist affiliations tell a very different story.

MCPS has roughly 155,000 students. Estimates suggest around 11,000 undocumented school-age children are in Montgomery County alone, with many more students connected through mixed-status households. That likely impacts 15% to 25% of MCPS families in some way and drives major growth in ESOL, newcomer services, and taxpayer-funded support programs.

Yet instead of focusing broadly on all families, Montoya is closely tied to activist groups like the Latino Democratic Club, which openly pushes policies centered on undocumented immigrants:

opposing ICE cooperation
expanding benefits regardless of status
expanding protections for undocumented residents

That is not the same thing as supporting legal immigrants or representing all MCPS parents equally.

And the hot mic incident said a lot. When parents objected during the MCPS boundary debate, Montoya responded with “That’s the racism.” Many of those parents were Asian American families raising concerns about academics, overcrowding, and school quality.

That is the concern here: ideological activism first, balanced representation second.

We should all do more research and pay closer attention to candidates, their affiliations, and the powerful special interest groups backing them before assuming they truly represent the interests of all MCPS families.

She uses it for back pain supposedly. Pot is so potent now, it probably affects more than her back.

The judgement on her pot - give me a break. The number of suburban moms who are medicated on prescription drugs, high AF on their own pot stash or constantly buzzed with who knows what in their Stanley… get over yourselves.
