And the hot mic incident said a lot. When parents objected during the MCPS boundary debate, Montoya responded with “That’s the racism.” Many of those parents were Asian American families raising concerns about academics, overcrowding, and school quality.

That is the concern here: ideological activism first, balanced representation second.

We should all do more research and pay closer attention to candidates, their affiliations, and the powerful special interest groups backing them before assuming they truly represent the interests of all MCPS families.[/quote]
