I am parent and when I was a kid, I was bullied a lot and way worse than just being called fat or stupid. Never ever I thought about hitting my bullies. I hated them yes, but I would not want to hurt them physically because its wrong. I grew up and I am successful person. People that bully me- jail, drugs, not good, and very sad

Just bc his mom won’t post his behavior on social media doesn’t make it true. My kid was a witness (who was involved with the police) the kid isn’t innocent. That’s the part she won’t post.

She said he threw a ball at her. He has ASD and could be greatly impacted by it. Thanks to this girl, he is now missing part of his brain. There is no excuse for her using a weapon and this was more than throwing it.

I'd remove my kid from that school.

ASD is not an excuse for repeatedly harassing someone. While impacted, he was not in a restrictive setting so he was deemed capable of appropriate basic interactions with peers. I would be horrified to learn that my child with ASD was bullying someone.

It sounds like both kids had issues, but he probably needed a 1-1 para. The SCHOOL is at fault for not handling the situation. How can you justify a child being hit with a metal object, causing major issues?

Oh my god what is the point of this argument? Based on the facts available to the public, there is no way to know a) the girl’s state of mind, b) whether the victim did anything that could be considered bullying, or c) the precise nature of the victim’s injuries/chances of a full recovery. It was a very bad thing that happened. The people with access to the facts of what happened should address it appropriately. We’re not going to get the full story and we’re not going to be able to judge whether the response was appropriate because we don’t have the right to know anything about other people’s kids. Direct your energies towards things you can control, like donating to the victim’s medical care or volunteering at your school.

I could see her throwing a ball back but she's dangerous. She chased and hit him with a metal rod causing a life long injury. How can you justify that. Many of us have kids who are bullied and they'd never retaliate like that.

Most 12 year olds would not chase a child off property, find a metal object and hit someone with it.
