Vandy now a monster football program - this school has it all..

Vandy is still ranked at 20. Alabama moved up to 8. This is what's called a "quality loss" in college football. Vandy's next game is against LSU. The rest of the schedule is all SEC schools so we shall see how legit they are. Pavia had a terrible game yesterday. Not winning anything with a fumble and a couple of interceptions.

But meanwhile, Texas and Penn State dropped out of the top 20 entirely.

This is still all very exciting for Vandy fans. A little humility is probably a good thing. Last year it was very exciting to both beat Alabama and make a Bowl game. And a Bowl will happen again this year with just one more win. But Vandy has shot up so high and so quickly under the new coach that people have their sights on the playoffs, which if you've followed Vanderbilt football for more than two years, is the most ridiculous thing ever. So it's still fun.

Cope. Typical mentality of a loser.

Vandy lost again and it looks like their hopes to be in the CFB have been dashed. I just don't see a path to the top 12 at this stage.

The new top 10 predictions according to CBS:

1. Ohio State
2. Indiana
3. Texas A&M
4. Alabama
5. Georgia
6. Oregon
7. Ole Miss
8. BYU
9. Notre Dame
10. Texas Tech
11. Texas
12. Oklahoma
13. Virginia
14. Louisville
15. Miami
16. Vanderbilt
17. Missouri
18. Georgia Tech
19. Utah
20. USC

Vandy will win the next 2 home games va auburn and Kentucky. We will see how they do vs TN in Knoxville. Even without making the CFP I think this was a very successful year for them and it’s been super fun!

They have a lot of potential moving forward and I think this will help their recruitment as well. The SEC brings so much money and attention but it is very difficult for Vanderbilt to compete given the sheer numbers in the fan base (Vanderbilt has the smallest undergrad enrollment by more than double the next smallest school in size) and the academic standards it upholds for recruits.

It’s a great year to be a ’Dore!

do share your “interests” - or here’s a novel thought- ask your kid! The striver mom directing all her “kiddo’s” decisions. Barf..

That’s my kid’s reaction. No interest in going to a red state where the girls dress up for football games.

Are the kids rich and entitled at Vandy? Preppy? Curious. Weighing that with too state school with a wide range of kids

its not a school for nerdy kids.

What are the kids like at Vandy? Is there a rich and entitled preppy vibe there?

I know several people whose kids ED’d to Vandy. It seems to attract “mainstream” or moderate/non-activist kids who want top academics and a fun social atmosphere.

Read white and conservative.

If Vanderbilt wins out against Auburn, Kentucky and Tennessee they still have a very good chance of making the playoffs. But regardless, it's been an extraordinarily good season. The coach is great. The recruiting is going to be outstanding going forward. The stadium is finally finished. Vandy has been the doormat in the SEC since forever. Two years ago, a ranked Vanderbilt in November was completely implausible. But here we are. And it seems likely that Vanderbilt will be able to compete with the Notre Dames and Michigans in the years ahead. This is all very new for Vanderbilt. So it's a lot of fun.

Indiana is the school having a great year. In the meantime one or two years doesn’t make for a legacy like ND or Michigan. Calm down.

Vandy is way too close to Trump. My kid refused to apply

That is not the vibe there in any way. Maybe 20 years ago.

The kids I know who applied and/or enrolled include kids who are not white, not conservative, and not into sports. There’s more to Vandy than its surface image as a school for rich white conservatives.

this is delusional. they have all 3 star recruits in their upcoming 3 classes. nowhere near stanford which actually has it all despite stanford football sucking
