Really? So you’re saying it’s not a particularly nice place unless you fit the mold? |
Agree Vandy is extremely popular!
|
Selectivity has overcome the quality of the education. Kids at our private with the stats would rather go to an Ivy or Duke |
This. Cue Notre Dame (and their last two games vs. last last season) |
Ever hear of NIL? Times have changed. |
Insult me all you like. This forum isn't a party. The above was my practical advice to one of my kids, whose college football team played in the national championship game: "enjoy the moments." And he did enjoy the moments, including more than one field-rushing win at home over that season. The next year was a return to a typical win-some, lose-some sports season, which was still fun, but not at that same level. It's about expectations - I didn't want him to expect the success would continue, with disappointment when it didn't. |
Vandy checks all the boxes. |
nah - at our private it’s the parents projecting that sentiment - all the kids want vandy. Cmon look at social media folks! this is disney land for smart cool kids! |
+1 but let them have fun. They’ve caught lightning in a bottle but will go back to being irrelevant in football soon enough. |
Barf. No interest. |
this is what we are seeing now, too. non-East Coast selective private. 10% of class ED to Vanderbilt. That's not going to end well. lol |
do share your “interests” - or here’s a novel thought- ask your kid! The striver mom directing all her “kiddo’s” decisions. Barf.. |
That’s my kid’s reaction. No interest in going to a red state where the girls dress up for football games. |
its not a school for nerdy kids. |
yes young women enjoying themselves and embracing a positive self image with regards to their appearance - how dare they!! |
