Everyone enjoying their summer COVID? It's baaa-aaack!

It doesn't really matter what "it" is - if you are sick the right thing to do is to protect others from getting sick. If you are an employer, the right thing to do is to provide sick leave or generous solutions to allow people to rest and not spread without risking their financial health as well.

Masks are easy to wear and readily available. If you must go out to renew your driver's license or pick up food wear one, wash your hands, minimize your time by ordering ahead (you can do this without paying extra at some places) and don't expose others.

Work from home.

I still test for Covid because there are some unknowns with it, and it IS different than a cold (pathogenically, symptoms, what we know about it, etc...).

I currently have it and am working from home and doing all I can to not expose my family because they need to keep working and doing what they are doing. We are privilged to be able to have separate bathrooms, order food, etc... so it's easy. Since it's easy for me, I do what I can.

Back? It never left.

I still mask in closed public spaces even if I'm the only one. However interestingly enough I'm seeing more masks now because this new strain is pretty violent.

I can't understand why people want many, many covid infections over and over again given the fact it really does a number on your heart, brain and body. It's pretty stupid.

I don't test for flu or covid (but vaccinate for both.) It's not going to change the treatment - I'm going to rest and hydrate and treat symptoms with OTC but I'm not going to take any Rx medication. When I feel better I will resume my normal life.

Wait - are people really still this panicked in 2025?

Your post = I am a selfish ahole. None of that was necessary. Especially the gym. How rude to be huffing and puffing around people. Unlike you, some people actually work. They get two weeks of summer vacation that they would prefer not to have COVID for - whether they are at the beach, in Europe or visiting family. You suck.

Yes we should all just sit inside for 2 weeks and it will be gone.

Most are only contagious for 5-7 days. You can also mask if you need to go out. But why would you want to infect others with any illness?!?!

You don’t need to go out when sick. Have everything delivered. It’s really crummy.

My son's coworker tested positive. Normal, they work for a camp, and every summer some kid comes down with Covid. My son tested negative, but he's a little sniffy. I'm keeping my eye on those symptoms.

I would fly back from a trip while ill, if I could manage the trip. However, I mask with a quality mask, so I figure, I'm not the issues. It's the 20+ others on the plane hacking away who are likely contagious with something that you need to be concerned about. But I woudlnt' initiate a trip if I had covid or the flu.

People cough for all kinds of reasons. You are the problem. You take off your mask to eat and drink.

2020 just called asking for its self righteous bullying behavior back.

It’s not bullying to call out selfish wholes like you. If you don’t like to hear it, then alter your behavior, snowflake.

Said the person terrified to step outside with a cold circulating around.

For some of us, a simple cold can last weeks and often end up in the hospital. Stay blessed and selfish.

+1. Everyone should stay home so PP can go out.

That would be appreciated. How hard is it to stay home sick? Two months ago I went to a doctor who was sick. I waited nine months for the specialist. I wish they would have canceled. He was masking and said he was due to a cold. If you are working with high risk patients at least give them an option to reschedule. Nice guy but I just needed a copy of my test results to see another specialist and they only would give them to me in person. I knew the results. I was sick for over a month with two rounds of steroids and antibiotics and given how hotel I have to do that it’s ruining my liver. Can I thank you for the spread and send you my medical bills since you are too selfish to stay home when sick? Or, are you willing to step in and cook, clean and drive my kids when I cannot so my spouse doesn’t have to miss work? Or, at least send me food in the hospital as hospital food sucks. At least I usually get a private room.

You are contagious before you feel sick. Now what?

Well a doctor who sees high risk patients should still be wearing a quality mask at work while seeing the patients.

For everyone else well you cannot help that, but you can at least stay home when ill and mask up if you truly must go out (dining and a haircut are not must do activities when ill)

Well they don’t. And, my kid has Covid now. Which person here can we thank. I don’t even do things like haircuts anymore.

WAIT - are people still thinking there are no long term effects on their body from multiple covid infections?!
