Everyone enjoying their summer COVID? It's baaa-aaack!

I have it. Lost my voice, then was abnormally tired and a little achy. My nose is a little congested.

No other symptoms.

Your post = I am a selfish ahole. None of that was necessary. Especially the gym. How rude to be huffing and puffing around people. Unlike you, some people actually work. They get two weeks of summer vacation that they would prefer not to have COVID for - whether they are at the beach, in Europe or visiting family. You suck.

+1 whether it be flu, strep, or a garden-variety virus - that was so thoughtless of you.

Are you okay with being a bad person?

I worry that covid could cause a cancer recurrence.

I have it now and it is more than a cold. I'm significantly less productive now whereas I can mostly power through a cold.

Covid seems to be settling in to have a summer peak as well as a lesser one in the winter, which is unusual for most respiratory viruses.

Honestly, this is nothing new after 5 years. The public health measures still work if you utilize them. If you’re surprised it’s only because you’re not paying attention. Nothing has changed in that respect. If you watch the data, this is a totally expected period for it to
Peak again.

There are people flying in from the southern hemisphere winter daily. Maybe it's a "stuck inside" during both excessive heat and cold phenomenon.

Forget COVID, why would you do any of those things if you were sick... you wouldn't be ABLE to do those things if you were sick!

Well, this "cold" is affecting me pretty severely as it did my wife and the neighbors.

Why would you not take it seriously? Any other illnesses you don't take seriously?

You lose your sense of smell and taste from a cold? Not from congestion, that is passed at that point.

Most do not lose either. That is less than 25%. And yes it is a cold.

Well, I felt a lot worse than you do! I could muster the energy to walk the dog (DH is away) and order food for the kids. I cancelled my hair appointment so as to not get my stylist sick. She is self employed and does not get paid sick leave.

Have some consideration for others and keep your germs at home.

I would think most illnesses are not to be taken seriously. How would life keep moving if anything else?

We've been flying, traveling, doing a bunch of things and none of us have had more than an occasional sneeze.
