Well, this "cold" is affecting me pretty severely as it did my wife and the neighbors.

Why would you not take it seriously? Any other illnesses you don't take seriously?

I would think most illnesses are not to be taken seriously. How would life keep moving if anything else?

Well, typically, when you don't take illnesses seriously, life doesn't keep moving.

Just an anecdote but I also lost a lot of smell/taste from this round of COVID.

Your post = I am a selfish ahole. None of that was necessary. Especially the gym. How rude to be huffing and puffing around people. Unlike you, some people actually work. They get two weeks of summer vacation that they would prefer not to have COVID for - whether they are at the beach, in Europe or visiting family. You suck.

Yes we should all just sit inside for 2 weeks and it will be gone.

No, but if you know you have an easily transmitted disease you shouldn’t do things that could easily transmit it to people who may not have as cavalier of an attitude as you.

“Genital warts don’t bother me and having unprotected sex with partners who don’t know I have it won’t change my diagnosis!”

My friend caught it in France and flew back with it, but only tested after coming home.

My son's coworker tested positive. Normal, they work for a camp, and every summer some kid comes down with Covid. My son tested negative, but he's a little sniffy. I'm keeping my eye on those symptoms.

Thanks for sharing it.

Yes, be a decent person and not spread it.

Sounds like a good reason to remember not to be a massive obese land beast with self inflicted poor medical health. Otherwise, Covid is basically no big deal.

The psychosis of trying to find out how to be medically oppressed is so unbelievably lame.

If you have COVID and feel well enough to work out in the gym, you are well past the infectious stage.

COVID is very treatable but even if it’s “just a cold” (and this round is much more severe than a cold) it has a cost - productivity at work, taking a at time with your family, fatigue, etc

And you have no idea what anyone else’s health is.

Just as you would with a STI, even if it doesn’t bother you, try not to spread it.

Exactly. Who are these selfish pricks intentionally spreading a contagious virus around? Try to avoid crowded spaces, wear a mask in the doctor's office, nursing home or daycare, etc. You KNOW what you're supposed to do.

Don’t care. If I get it, I’ll rest and recover.

Listen, Buddy. I work in public health and am concerned about America’s obesity rate… however, one think your smug arse needs to remember is that unless you have the good fortune of dropping dead suddenly at some point, you too will become disabled and medically fragile for some portion of your life. It’s insane for any human to have your attitude because time comes for us all.
