Yeah, there is a vast gap between DCUM and most Americans on the issue of abortion, and this thread is just an example of that. |

She was a nurse. Why wouldn't her health insurance company be paying? Her baby would be covered, too. |
^ at least until the pull the plug... |
The problem here is that every scenario is unique. An medical ethics article published a few years ago referred to 30 such cases, 12 of which resulted in a live birth, and the fact that the older the fetus the better the odds of survival. But ethical considerations go beyond just that. They include medical consent (by the patient if that is known, or surrogate) and how the human body is treated after death. |
I don’t think any of those cases were at 9 weeks. |
^^idiot |
ME too disgusting conservatives pretending to be christians. Scum is what they are. |
|
Which is why crazy strangers aren’t allowed to make medical decisions for people they have never even met. And also why hospitals have security guards. Yikes! |
Same. The best part is this joke of an administration who pretend to be "christians" are only pro birth. They are literally cutting funding for families specifically head start. They don't care this is to control and pretend to be "godly". It's evil. |
What are you going on about. I was talking if it was my family you f@cking moron. Yikes to you who is probably praising the lord at what is happening to this poor woman-meanwhile you are a crap human. |
If you ever get bad vibes from a family member, do not leave them alone with an ill or injured child or adult family member. You never know what someone is capable of, as illustrated by this deeply disturbed individual. |
I am a healthcare worker. When the person cannot speak for themselves and has no advance directive, the immediate family, legally, gets to make the decision, knowing the person, for what they would have wanted. The family has already stated their decision, which would always involve a discussion of what she would have wanted as well as taking into account medical ethics. Unfortunately, the GA law is superceding a medical decision that is usually the immediate family's decision (and likely medical ethics consult opinion). |
I can only imagine how hard this must be for her and her family.
Maybe this was covered but I think Medicaid/medicare should pay the bill as they often pay for medical/educational care for special needs babies and children. That poor woman’s body has been usurped by the state of Georgia to be the world’s most expensive incubator for an orphan special needs child. The child cannot breathe eat or function without its host who is a ward of the state. No family should be greeted with millions of medical debt for a dead loved one when they don’t agree to the care given. |
