Depending on the clubs top ECRL beats bottom GA all day long |
Haha!! Good one. But won’t happen . |
Haha! Go ask TSJ and VA Rev and look up results in some of the recent tournaments. Happens all the time. Keep drinking the GA cool aid. |
Happens to ECNL teams too. Keep drinking the ECNL Tang. |
TSJ is not a serious club. Excluding the U19s, VRSC GA teams are at least competitive with and in most cases are substantially better than NOVA RL teams. That will increasingly be the case over the next few years. |
| Lets be real here. ECNL RL are getting beat my National League teams lol |
In this region right now you need to buy it. Maybe over time GA separates from ECRL but it wont be this fall. The player pool in the area is the player pool. Just because there are five brand spanking new GA teams does not mean they all have access to a new set of players. VRSC and SYC GA teams today aren't better than the top RL teams like Strikers, Arlington, and VA United, and they won't be tomorrow either. CISC because of timing of their tryouts before the announced GA is bringing ECNL teams pretty much intact to GA. NVA maybe in some age groups will have teams of mostly former ECNL players. Making CISC and NVA likely top of table. The rest, Loudoun, Alexandria, McLean are pulling from the RL player pool to fill out their new GA teams. |
I predict with all the DOGE layoffs, employees going into the office, and killing off of agencies that there will be much less kids participating in club soccer. I also predict that players that do continue won't be driving all over DMV just to get on whatever team their parents view as the prestige one. Players that continue playing in the next couple of seasons will play on whatever club team is close and cheap. This means GA teams will pull from their local area. Unfortunate every club will be scrambling for players. |
| When I hear about what families do for their child players it blows my mind. Driving from Rockville to Arlington is nothing. Some FLY to practice. Or move to high altitude. Quit jobs and school to home-school. And this kind of thing is usually decided by age 10. It’s really amazing. |
I've never heard of "flying to practice. " I have heard of kids who play on a team states away who train on their own then the whole team gets together once a month to practice together. |
I have witnessed 2 examples to support the above statement. 1.) We know one family who decide to homeschool in order to train soccer in the morning. Then they guest play with top teams around the country in top tournaments. This is starting at age 8. 2.) And one family decide to relocate to for the sole purpose of getting their kids to play on some of the top California ECNL teams. Which, to be honest, is no different that Lindsay Vaughn's family deciding to move to Vail when she was 10. But yeah, obviously the parents want it a sh$t-ton more than the kids to do stuff like that. |
Agree there are ECRL teams that can beat some GA teams. There are also ECRL teams that can beat some ECNL teams. But the GA league is generally a more competitive league than ECRL. |
The only people who don’t think GA is better than ECRL are RL club coaches and directors who are worried about losing their top players. No one is leaving GA to go to an RL team. |
This is reality + 100% correct. |
Wow. What value are they getting out of this craziness? I would do it if I have a crystal ball telling me one day DD will become a pro getting paid like Men soccer in Europe or Saudi League and will get a percentage from these clubs like Real Madrid, City and go retire in a private island. Otherwise, I drive my kid in the DMV area clubs and focus on academics. |
