Unsure if there is sarcasm in there or not but a 1-0 win from Arlington RL, likely to finish 1st this year in the area, isn't a huge accomplishment from them. That game likely could've gone either way, I think this just further cancels the narrative that RL teams in this area would do well against the GA clubs.

That doesn't remove the idea that RL is strong in other areas, but GA is grabbing those types of clubs like LVU rush.

TSJ is terrible in GA, but ECNL-R is terrible relative to GA, so you'd expect even a GA cellar-dweller to be better than some ECNL-R teams.

This market in the DMV is so skewed from the rest of the country in girls soccer. think most of its stems from there just being to many clubs period and some consolidation needs to take place. No other market in the country has eight GA and 3 ECNL clubs in such a small area.

Even RL is skewed here. Its run by VPSL and not ECNL and they let way too many clubs in that wouldn't make the cut for RL in any other market run by ECNL. Its not a good measurement of the quality of RL overall.

Arlington dominated that TSJ game. They are working through some scoring challenges this spring, but they are much better than TSJ and I believe they will be much better then ASA this coming year. That said, the 26-27 year will be interesting as the GA teams should get better and the competition in RL will likely still be a problem unless the new teams improve significantly.

Agreed. TSJ via Rankings App is 693 nationally, Arlington 2011 RL is 312 nationally. Shows some slight flaws in that app I guess, but for a better comparison maybe, they recently played IMG 2011 GA, a mid-table GA club in the SE conference and lost 3-1. IMG 2011 GA is ranked close to what that Arlington team is, but still struggles in GA as a whole currently.

This may be true but if you’re a 2011 in RL, but so many of those teams starting from Valor down have no business having ECNL attached to their names, even if it’s just RL. LMV, Villa and Herndon are a joke. So you’re good next year, who cares, LOL. It’s too late to play the long game at this point—should’ve jumped ship to GA. If you spend some time looking at the rankings app for Virginia and for the US, this entire RL group is pretty sad competition.

Just don’t know how you dominate a team and only win 1-0. I’m sure Arlington is the better team and had more possession and more shots but if they were significantly better the margin of victory would have been greater.
Also look at the rest of the games in the tournament.
TSJ beat Vienna 2-0 and PWSI 4-1. Arlington beat Vienna 3-1 and PWSI 5-0.
Those are similar scores.
