| GA top team vs ECNL RL top team for a kid that will never get a look from her club’s ECNL team? |
| RL 3 practices/week, less travel, fewer games (fall and spring), easier schedule to play multiple sports. Competition is mixed. GA 4 practices/week, more travel, 10 month season, only off end of June and July unless playoffs. Higher level of play but it ranges and some equivalent to RL level teams. |

top GA is better than top ECRL
Top ECRL is better than bottom GA also, Top GA is better than bottom ECNL depends on the team, not even the club |
| With all the new GA VA teams isnt it ECRL redux already? Find the best GA club fit as there are plenty to choose from and give the league a chance |
| Another factor to consider - the GA team is the #1 in the clubs age group and will get better fields, practice times etc. |
| Never forget the boys always come first at every club |
What year? |
| No data yet (only guesses) but hopefully RL team will play Aspire teams and then we shall see which B league is the better one. |
| If soccer is the priority and she can make a GA team, then I would not even think about ECNL-R, although I would stay away from TSJFC and ASA in GA. If she wants to play multiple sports now and isn’t focused on playing soccer in college, then ECNL-R may be a better option. Most of the GA teams in DMV will be light years ahead of the ECNL-R teams in the area, although a step (or three) behind the local ECNL teams. |
The top RL teams will be better than the top Aspire teams. |
| I’d add that this may evolve over time as the GA vs ECNL battle evolves, so my reply above is for 2025-26 only, and only applies to the DMV. |
+1 ECNL GA ECNL-R Aspire For 2025-26, with a few possible exceptions (eg, NVA and SYC teams may be closer to ECNL than other GA teams). |
Agree if you are going to SYC, VRSC, McLean, NVA or Loudoun, go GA. Think the hardest decision would be do you leave Arlington, GFR, Vienna, Stafford RL team for Alexandria. |
TSJFC is at least as bad as ASA, maybe worse. And I don't know what to expect from MYS, given that most of their top players stayed at / went to Union. The 2013s, for example, are a mishmash of players from all over the DMV. |
Those two clubs' Aspire teams are also going to be stronger than most ECNLRL teams. Not all teams but most. |
